You'd think so wouldn't you? But several folks are reporting on the main thread for this fare that NW is now adamentally saying to everyone no changes whatsoever on this fare, in spite of the rules in place at the time of purchase. They are even erasing notes in people's records saying they could change the inbound portion on this fare to say that no changes will be allowed. What a way to run an airline.

I like visuals. I think (hope) more people will submit their info once they get the green light on ticket issuance, date changes, etc.

My BUH plans

I'd be happy to meet GrizShel, TrojanHorse, or any other FTers who would be flying with me or in BUH/AMS at the same time. Here is my schedule assuming nothing happens that would prevent me from going:

June 30 - 1400-1615 - Drive from my home in SEA to YVR
June 30 - 1855-1320 - YVR-AMS KLM 682
July 01 - 1320-2035 - AMS - perhaps rent a car or take ground transport to get out of airport
July 01 - 2035-0020 - AMS-OTP KLM 1361
July 02 - July 07 - OTP - May go to Transylvania, Black Sea, and/or take Low Cost Carrier to neighboring country for a couple nights. (Budapest is cheap now but will wait until Spring to decide).

Schedule subject to change if they keep B rules:

July 07 1415-1610 - OTP-AMS KLM 1390
July 07 1610 - July 08 1530 - AMS - will get a hotel and see what's happening
July 08 1530-1615 AMS - YVR - KLM 681
July 08 1700-1915 Drive home YVR to SEA

Yeah I found cheap fares from OTP to either Budapest, Istanbul or Bratislava.

I'm still debating on which of the three I should go to. I need a recommendation ... anyone?

Bratislava and Vienna very close so why not both, that is if you have the time. IIRC, there is regular bus service that covers the short distance.

Very tempting .. however I'm trying to stay away from the snow, especially being a Floridian and all.

And because I'm an Indonesian citizen, I would need to apply for visa for most, if not all, European countries.

So far, I have to get visas for the Netherlands, Romania, Spain and whichever fourth country I'll visit in Europe. The visa costs about $60 each

4/21 - 4/28

I'll be in OTP with two buddies from 4/21-4/28! (Well, maybe we'll nest a LCC flight in there and go somewhere else, but I don't know yet...)

We'll probably be driving up from PHL/NYC to YYZ on Saturday, 4/21.

4/21 YYZ-MXP AZ 653 6:25p-8:45a
4/22 MXP-OTP AZ 504 10:10a-1:30p
4/28 OTP-MXP AZ 503 6:25a-7:55a
4/28 MXP-YYZ AZ 652 10:15a-1:40p

peace,
~Ben~

FYI: Some LCCs (including SkyEurope) fly out of BBU (Bucharest-Baneasa) which is the airport that's in the city. (speaking of specials looks like they have some pretty good specials to FCO starting Jan 07)

LCCs that fly out of OTP:
Alpi Eagles (to VCE)
ClubAir (various destinations in Italy)
AirMadrid (to BCN and MAD)
WindJet (various destinations in Italy)
CarpatAir (to Timisoara and Constanta, as well as various cities in Europe thru TSR)

LCCs that fly out of BBU:

SkyEurope (various destinations in Europe)
BlueAir (various destinations in Europe and Romania)
WizzAir (various destinations in Europe)
MyAir (to VCE, Rome (CIA), Naples and other Italian destinations)

That's all that I can count off the top of my head, there may be others, most likely after Jan 1st, 07 when Romania joins UE and the skies open up, as it has been mentioned here before.
