Wow, cool, I'm impressed, three trips awesome

Wish I was doing that but getting to/from YYZ just is too difficult/expensive/hassle

We'll see you in BUH that week. At the very least I'd like to buy you a drink as thanks for discovering this deal.

I second this motion ^
I'll also (hopefully) be there during that time on my second ticket, if I can manage to take the time off

I'd be happy to start a Yahoo calendar like the UA RCC meet-ups one. I'm away from home at the moment though. Will post a link if/when I've got it set up.

Marriotts in both BUH & AMS.

I would recommend the JW Marriott in Bucharest. When I was there in Nov 02 it was the most modern, brand-new looking hotel in the city! Maybe the best building in the city.

AMS has the Renaissance and Marriott, one is close to the Centraal Station, the other near the Leidseplein and Heineken museum.

If you are staying for a long period of time, Marriott has gift cards for $1k and $2k for 10% off using this link:

https://www.marriottgiftcardoffer.com/validate.aspx?m=

If you hop over to the Marriott forum, people have been saying that paying for your stay with a gift card is like paying with a Visa card, and could make for some lucrative points bonuses using Marriott's Fall megabonus promo:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...4&page=1&pp=20

Enjoy both cities!

I'm going to miss you in BUH by one day

If I decided to stay in Romania for the whole week, I'm going to look into helping out with the local Red Cross or something for two or three days

I only have one trip booked and planned from this deal:

YVR-AMS AUG 14
AMS-LHR AUG 15

LHR-AMS AUG 25
AMS-BUH AUG 26
BUH-AMS AUG 26
AMS-YVR AUG 26

I planned for several days of stop-over at LHR. However, I intend to spend only about a couple of days in London. As for the rest, I will most likely be heading out somewhere, which currently is still too far ahead for me to predict .

Best wishes to those heading out to Bucharest in the coming few months .

The buh_bound Yahoo Calendar

http://calendar.yahoo.com/buh_bound

I thought it best to keep it simple, so I plugged in:
FTer: city pairs
and in the Notes box: hotel

Let me know what you think. Suggestions welcome, but be kind.

Thanks for doing this calendar. Is there any way to make it publicly editable so we can add our info ourselves? I know this makes it a target for vandalism, but hopefully that won't happen.

You're welcome.

Hmmm, the way the RCC calendar is done: continue to post in the thread or you can PM/email the calendar "mods" for the log-in info.

My thoughts as a public calendar newbie:
-- Self-posting/editing to the calendar might encourage more folks to join in the fun, but if vandalism is possible...

-- We can have a handful of mods to edit.

What do you think?

GSM Phones

Party of two: May 26 thru June 3 tru Toronto. We will be driving from Milwaukee to the Toronto airport to connect to the Saturday evening KLM flight if anyone is looking for a ride to the airport on this route.

First night probably an award stay at the Marriott.

Question: Does anyone know if there is a GSM cell phone service provider in Romania? I would like to be able to pop in a SIM card into my unlocked T Mobile GSM phone and have service, both in Bucharest and in the Constanta/Black Sea beach resorts.

We have only one trip booked out of YVR.

We will be in

AMS on 8/19-24
BUH on 8/25-28

I will be with my wife and two kids. We may visit Germany or Belgium during our AMS stay. Likely take a tour of Bucharest and rural mountains/castles during our Romania stay. Probably will be staying at the Amsterdam Marriott and Bucharest JW on points, as they are one of the few that can handle a family of four. Obviously, it's pretty early in the game and much may change.
