DTW Ann Arbor Art Fair DO 2- July 22-23, 2006

I had such a good time last year, I thought we'd try it again. Definately dinner and some liquid refreshment afterward on Saturday. Possibly a seminar of some type Sunday morning.

I'd also be up for lunch on Saturday and walking some of the art fair with others, if anyone is interested in that.

Hmmm...I will be moving to Ann Arbor in August to be a poor student again, but I don't think I can make it to the DO in July

This sounds like a great idea. A DO I can do.
Which hotel would work best to be where the action will be?

Last year, some people stayed on Boardwalk, which is near South State Street, across from Briarwood Mall. There is a shuttle that runs to the art fair from the mall. And for those looking for a decent use of SPG points, I checked availability at the 4 Points.

3000 Starpoints for Stay
Category 2
Four Points by Sheraton Ann Arbor
3200 Boardwalk

Available Saturday July 22.

And for those looking to maximize points, you can stay for 2,000 at the 4 Points at the airport, which is 25 minutes away.

the ENTIRE city sells out for the fair...book early (the fair is downtown A2), cheaper options would be to stay at the airport (about 20 mins away)

The closest full-service Marriott is in Ypsilanti, so that's where I'll be.

I doubt that I'd go to the Art Fair, but I might be playing golf in that part of the world that weekend (working on a SE Michigan / NW Ohio golf tour for around that time) and would try to make dinner.

I reserved the Holiday Inn Express at Briarwood so I'm in.
