It's almost March, and any plans yet? Baltimore was suggested at the last HH.

Alright! So I am out of hibernation - where the hell is the summer I was promised?

Question 1 - Happy Hour or Dinner?
Question 2 - Day and Date?
Question 3 - Do you really want to make me come all the way to Baltimore...?

This weekend MIGHT be a bit tough - the road trip I was supposed to have the last weekend when Mr. Winter played spoil sport might happen this weekend.

Actually come to think of it - if it does I MIGHT - JUST MIGHT - be able to do Baltimore Dinner. Hmm.. the possibilities.

Anyway so much for my concrete plans (hopefully they will be concrete by tomorrow)

Anything special happening around town this weekend?

Alright - so count me out for this weekend. Although I could do Sunday evening.

But in case any of you folks are interested just FYI - http://residentassociates.org/otomar/brewing.asp

$86 is too much for me for a beer tasting

Staying on the subject of beer - how about Gordon Biersch on Sunday evening? Do we have people wanting to meet up this weekend?

This weekend is out for me as well.

Well, at least we've done a great job at nailing down when a lot of us are not available....now if we can just pull the trigger on a date. Next weekend?
The weekend after? The weekend after the weekend after?
The Sunday night idea seems cool for those of us coming from farther away

I've got a hockey game to play in this Sunday evening, so that's out for me. Next Sunday night might work!

Then it's off to Houston, L.A., and a long roadtrip down the Baja peninsula in Mexico, so I won't be around for many weekends to come after next Sunday. Hope we can get something together!

How about next Sunday at like 8 p.m.? Meet up somewhere like the Brickskeller in DC? In the VA burbs? The MD side? I'm up for whatever.

peace,
~Ben~

I'd be down with the Brickskeller in DC next Sunday (the 12th) at 8.

The burbs would ne OK too, with a preference for VA, of course .

Incidentally, does anybody know why this thread isn't in the Washington DC (inc. Baltimore) forum? Seems like that'd be the logical place for it. Maybe a mod can move it?

peace,
~Ben~

Personally I like it in community, but I understand where you are coming from. Perhaps we could get a sticky in the DC forum that that links to this thread.

I'm generally around Sunday evenings and would be up for something. The Brickskeller was fun last time. It is a very FT place. So many beers that are so different and are from all over the world.

Sounds like a plan folks. Next Sunday (the 12th) sounds good to me.

I personally would vote for a microbrewery over Brickskeller - find it a little too smoky for my taste.

Ben - Good Question! I hadn't really thought about this till you asked.

My views on this...
I think this thread as well as other such get together threads are better in Community Buzz since its a more common place for people from all over to catch it. As much as most of the people that would attend are primarily from the DC area - it helps to have others who might be flying through to also be able to see if they can make it to the events.

Now of course the argument could be made that if one was flying through DC they ought to check the DC sub-forum - but I think that is a bit much. Community Buzz is a far more - if I can use the word - "accessible" forum than the DC sub-forum.

On the other hand of course people who are visiting DC - the kinda flyer talkers who haven't found "Community Buzz" yet - would probably visit the Baltimore/DC sub forum for their queries and for them I think your question does raise a valid point and I think El Boocho's suggestion is a very good one.

Maybe one of our multiple great DC based moderators can shed some light on if this is doable (and perhaps do it for us)

What, you have not sent a message to the moderator of the DC/Baltimore forum to update the link to this thread? Falling down on the job so soon...
I'm in for 12 Mar. Brickskeller is great for me, 10-min walk from my apt.
