Thumbs up Count me in on SIN

I spend a lot of time in Singapore doing speaking and training and have just found about the meeting of the FT SINners. I will plan on being there for the MLK weekend and look forward to meeting you!

The feast in the Southeast is on again. It is called the SIN Run 2006 and this year we are four years old and still going strong. Info on times places and events scheduled so far can be checked out on the website for this event at:

http://home.inter.net/mjm/sinrun06.html

This thread will also always be a good place to find out the latest on who is signed up (which will also be updated regularly on the website), what events are being suggested, special deals on hotels etc, etc.

Last years group was full of new faces who I am hoping and betting will be repeat attendees. This year it seems we already have a large number of first timers again. The event has continued to be a terrific mix of returning SINners and fresh faces. With more than 30 people already signed up and many of those ticketed, we may be headed towards a record turnout. Who knows, we may have taken over the whole restaurant when they start bringing out the platters of Pepper Crabs, Chili Crabs, and all the wonderful assorted munchies that Singapore has to offer.

You are officially invited to come on down and join in the fun on the equator.

Mike

FunnyScott - if you're based in SIN you may want to check out the ultimate thread about SIN do which lists the local dos, dinners and drinks.

I should be returning to asia after holidays in Jackson Hole w nephews. I would like to attend. Fairly new to all this and would like to get out and met up with FTers. . Wonder if there would be any folks interested in going out on a run with the local Hash House Harriers while there?

Well, I just officially blocked those days on our work scheduling calendar (which is further than I've made it the last couple of years) so for all intensive purposes I'm in.

Now I just need to figure out if I'm doing *A or OW - and on what kind of ticket. Decisions decisions!

The "Hash rally run" I joined in Hongkong was a 12 kilometer run up and down on the back of Victoria peak, then up again, and back down to Central, where we started.

I would call that "intensive jogging / running".

Anyone with any thoughts on what would the SIN version of that be?
Might be interested as well. Like others, it would be a good exercise motivator for December/January...not to mention a way to get the legs moving after/before the long flights.

I'm not sure my liver can take any future Hash runs.

(Hashers are self-described as "drinkers with a running problem". I could barely walk when I left my last Dallas Hash.)

Didn't you miss out on the "pit stops" in your description? I haven't participated personally, but from friends attempt to recruit me (and techgirl's comment above) that is definitely a key part of the run.

Not to mention that there are several of us who would likely make the run to KL and drag him to SIN by his ears if he didn't find his way there on his own

On a side note, if you're a trekkie, or rather more PC, a trekker... to the Ferengi... Oomox, an act of ear manipulation is rather, er... stimulating.....
