StarG: Friday night we should not choose the Seafood by the beach. Now the choices would be KuDeTa or Bumbu Bali. Would you agree if we start Friday night with Balinese food in Bumbu Bali? Reason: to welcome the visitor with a taste of Bali. In addition, if any FTers take later flight, i.e. arrives 7pm, they could join us since the restaurant is quite near to the airport right? Other reason, MovieMan, and perhaps you & family will arrive Friday afternoon and stay in Nusa Dua area. Therefore it is better for you guys to do your sightseeing around Nusa Dua that afternoon. Or we can all watch sunset from the coffee shop near the pool of the Ritz Carlton where MAN Flyer stays. Thus, easy and short drive to the restaurant Bumbu Bali.

Saturday we can all go to Ubud, rice terraces, Puri Besakih etc up north, then go down south toward Seminyak. We then can decide to see another sunset by La Lucciola just before dinner at KuDeTa, or to go directly for dinner at KuDeTa. Afterwards, we can continue to have drinks at KuDeTa then hit the bar along Dhyana Pura with the ending at Double Six disco.

Okay guys, we need your opinion, so that StarG can make the booking for dinner. Those restaurants are quite busy on the weekend!

CGK, I think your plan makes sense, but I am OK with whatever you guys decide. I must admit that despite my four years in Asia I have never made it to Bali, so I'll just go with the flow.

Likewise, I'm also deferring to your judgement. Never having been to Bali, it all sounds wonderful to me!

CGK: Bumbu Bali for the first night's dinner sounds good. I have got to be less selfish these days - keep forgetting MAN Flyer's seafood allergy. Sorry, MAN Flyer.
Ku De Ta for the second night's dinner sounds fantastic as well.
I might skip second day's outing to be with my family, but will join you guys for dinner.
Others: Please let us know what you think so we can place bookings accordingly (for dinners and outings/pre-/after-dinner etc.).
Thanks.

Be careful with that statement. I may take you somewhere you might not like it at all. The dark-side of me according to some, but it's my fun-side of me.

And to think I was asking what we'd be doing for entertainment if the PLTs weren't fighting over the suites. I knew you wouldn't disappoint!

No worry. Family first! And who knows what will happen Saturday morning after having the party Friday night with MAN Flyer some of us may be more than tipsy compare to at Asia Bar last time?

Note to self... pack big bottle of Migraine-Strength Excedrin and purchase plenty of bottled water after arriving...

I think sailaway75 also has shellfish allergies, since i noticed he didn't eat anything much at No Signboard except the chicken dish

I think I should consider switching to pharmaceuticals.... can u imagine the big bucks in finding the cure to allergies....

You're correct, Gaz also has shellfish issues.

Hopefully he's travelling this week since he hasn't posted to this thread yet?

In all fairness, the Oz weekend was posted first... and I'm not giving up my sleeper F to/from SYD. Its really a pity you guys can't just hop the extra four or five hours down to join the rest of our crew!

As much as I love OZ, I never like cold weather, and late May is usually wet and cold.... At least now I can lie by the beach and read a book, something that I never found time for in a long while.

Just a very quick post! (as I am about to drive to NYC!)

I will be in Bali from the 22nd until the 30th of May with my parents. I will be staying at the Oberoi which is next to Ku De Ta (in Seminyak).

I will read through the thread later! - thank you!

That does sound quite nice, doesn't it! Having just gotten through another Chicago winter, a beach & warm wx definitely beats a "winter" destination in my book!
