Looks like the combination of the expected weather and the Bears game starting at 12pm means I'm staying on the couch this weekend.

I'll also be keeping an eye on the weather... assuming there is no ice, I'll be there. If its icky though, I'll assume we are a no-go.

Yeah, I would definitely encourage everyone to check here before leaving... although i'm still hoping to be there (hey, I need a supply of pizza for the week!), it'll only happen for me if the weather holds out.

Dave, can you post a definitive go/no-go here by, say, 10:30? If it's borderline, I'd hate to go and be the only one there, but I'd also hate to miss a Do if everyone else does go...

Probably. In any case, from where I sit right now at 11 am (right on the line where the freeze has started), there is no WAY I'd leave to drive to Denton right now. (I just got in from a grocery/office/Starbucks emergency stockpile run and there is NO way I'd go back out.)

Given that its not supposed to get better and in fact, is supposed to get much much worse, I'd be inclined to say I will NOT be there tomorrow. (For those of you in Dallas - even the northern parts - the weather map is showing that you guys are several hours behind us on getting what we are seeing right now.)

Ya know, it's a darn good thing y'all are here. I was just getting ready to leave the house -- I remembered that I'd first scheduled it for a Saturday, and was just assuming it was today.

Okay, so now it's supposed to be tomorrow... I'll update later tonight based on the latest forecasts. Based on how it's looking right now, I'd say the odds favor cancelling, but let's withhold judgement for a little while.

In the meantime, I'm going to go brave the rain and buy another TV. :)

I'm thinking the same thing, living in the far northern part of Dallas. With the conditions forecast to worsen by the time we were wanting to meet tomorrow, I am leaning towards not being there.

Ok, cool, so we're all thinking the same way. I'm planning on bundling up all weekend long. Might even turn on the fireplace!

Okay, given everyone's strange desire to stay warm, safe, and alive, and the 100% chance of precipitation forecasted by our friends at the National Weather Service, and the likelihood of not only rain but ice and snow, too, let's make it official and cancel the lunch.

We'll look forward to cardiology hell... er... next month's gathering. Guess we'l have to schedule online instead of in person... :)

I, too, will be doing the opposite of showing up at the Tomato tomorrow. Instead, I will be attempting to fly to OKC tomorrow afternoon from DFW. Any guess what the over/under is on whether I make it there it all, and, if so, by how many hours I will be delayed?

Ok, let's talk February.

I give you Babes Chicken House, in all of its artery-clogging glory. The Historic Downtown Carrollton location, locate a stones-throw from I-35E & Beltline, offers the expanded menu, with 6 entrees to choose from. 4 of them deep-fried. Popular opinion is that the fried chicken and chicken fried steak are some of the best in town.

So all we need now is a date. One suggestion I've gotten is for Saturday, Feb 3. It's the day before the super bowl, so maybe fewer folks will be travelling, and no one will be able to stay healthy that weekend anyway. Does that work? If not, suggest alternative dates please. Would folks prefer a lunch or dinner Do?
