Mmmm... I would go for either dim sum or tapas.

The downside with dim sum is that it is a brunch/lunch thing which limits us to weekends - the only date that might work for me in May is Saturday the 20th.

With tapas we can do any evening... and I've got a few more of those open (16, 17, 18, 21, 22).

Darned baseball schedule!

Speaking of baseball - did anyone see the post about Saturday, July 15 I made in the other thread? If that isn't a big obstacle for the gang, I'm going to make that our second annual summer Cats DO.

Tapas would be good. Cafe Madrid is great and I think they have a small private room.

I sure did. Sounds good to me. :)

It seems like tapas would work for the majority of us this month. Maybe dim sum next month?

Here's the Guidelive review of Cafe Madrid.

I am not 100% sure what 'tapas' are...but I'll give it (them?) a whirl. When? I work on the way-western side of the DFW-world so making it during the week is doable but challenging. Not that y'all plan these around my wonky schedule, anyway...Hope I can make it! :)

So what's your wonky schedule like? :p What dates would work for you?

I haven't tried tapas before, so it's going to be new for me, too (same for dim sum).

Well, I have school on Mondays, am out of town the 2nd weekend in May, am out of town Memorial Day weekend, and work random days (mostly Fridays) til 8. See? Wonky.

To translate: 1st weekend of May is open, 3rd is as well. Tues - Thurs are doable (thurs is better) for most of the month too..

studley Apr 27, 2006 9:55 pm

How does Thursday, May 18 work for everyone?

techgirl Apr 27, 2006 10:55 pm

May 18 will work for me.

bpauker Apr 27, 2006 11:04 pm

Mmmm.... stuffed peppers, serrano ham, manchego, potato omelette... May 18th works for me, too.

Cafe Madrid has also a nice variety of ports and sherry for dessert, and the tiramisu is not shabby at all, if memory serves. I've had some really nice meals there in the past.

Yes, because I find that drinking port on a "school night" helps me with my memory and driving skills.... :p :p

*ducks*

I have had a strong tapas craving and it IS cheaper than the flight to Spain!

May 18th at Cafe Madrid will work for me.
