Even though I live in Dallas, I'm hardly ever there. I went to an FT dinner tonight in LAS (here for work) and had a great time. If you all end up doing this on a Sat or Sun evening in March I'd come as long as I'm in town.
If I'm not, I'll keep watching the thread and hopefully be home some weeknights also in the coming months.

My March is looking pretty open.

Bump since the month is starting and will likely escape us quickly based on past experience....

If we want to go for a weeknight, I can do...

* Monday, 3/24
* Wednesday, 3/26

Weekend...

* Sunday, 3/16
* Friday, 3/21
* Saturday, 3/22
* Sunday, 3/23

Of Techgirl's dates, I think all work for me except Tues 3/18.

Friendly bump... is anyone going to step up and plan something? If not, I might be having to throw Fort Worth out there again....

Going to be in town 3/24 - 3/28. If anyone is getting together that week for drinks and/or a bite to eat, I'd be up for buying the first round.^

So, why don't we aim for Wed 3/26 then?

Fireworksboy, which side of town will you be in?

Wednesday sounds good. I'll probably be staying near Arlington so Dallas or Fort Worth would work for me. Thinking after work, maybe 5:30ish?

Bumping....

What if we went ahead and did Arlington? We haven't been that way in a looong time (that I can recall).

A couple of places around the I-30/360 corridor....

* My Martini (Collins & Green Oaks) - tapas and extensive martini menu
* Olenjacks (Lincoln Square) - "small plates" (this place has gotten some rave reviews)
* Simply Fondue (Lincoln Square) - because cooking your own food is sooo fun

And takes for-friggin'-ever... ;)

I'm partial to Buck n' Loons, but I like crappy bar food. (actually, the crappy bar food is pretty good there).

Wow, they all sound great and very convenient as I'm hanging at the Sheraton Wednesday night.^

Men. :rolleyes:

Because you know your front porch will still be waiting when you get home....

They all sound okay to me (except the fondue - I share Emp's observation), and I don;t know Arlington at all, so I shall yield to the consensus.

techgirl Mar 21, 2008 6:51 am

How far south is Empedocles' suggestion? It looked close to I-20 based on the address - my only worry for a weeknight is that for most of us, that will add an extra 20-30 minutes on the drive as almost all of us will be crawling slowly down 360 from Dallas/Addison/Irving/Plano.

I'll go with the consensus - but keep the commute in mind w/ the start time!

empedocles Mar 21, 2008 6:58 am

Mine was only half-serious. But yes, it is by The Parks, so further south than Lincoln Square.

I have another low-brow suggestion, but I'll keep my mouth shut. ;)
