Thanks to all who made the journey last night for drinks in the cold (good thing the contractors didn't mind the lawn chairs in the living room!) and a great meal. As always, Angela brought "candidates" to present to all the singles present and very little travel was talked (other than which boring consulting locales we were all trying to escape from in 2008!) Mary and I went to the Gingerman afterwards for a couple more pints (one of those last minute as we were driving by decisions).

Looking forward to January... time for the Dallas/Denton/Collin County contingent to plan one. ;)

Thanks for organizing the Dec. gathering. Sounds like you all had fun.

We did not make it out there because I was a bit under the weather and I did not want to get anyone sick. Although, I would have RSVP'd prior to 3pm if I had felt better. I look forward to meeting all the FT DFW members soon.

I will be away in LAS and SFO for work 1/3 through 1/20. I would not mind helping plan a Denton/Collin gathering if someone has ideas on where/what you all like to dine or type of food choices among the DFW contingent. I'll check out some of the earlier pages on the thread as well to see where you've all been before.

Otherwise, I'll plan on meeting the group in Feb. '08.

I'm enjoying some of the other threads and stories on here, I'm glad I found FT! I can see I'll be spending some time getting great tips and general info from all the members.

I can do something later in the month. Just remember, if I keep planning, we will keep picking Tarrant County. ;)

Not sure I want to claim the role of planner - I'm not coming up with any inspired ideas for locations - but I'll try to at least start the organizing. Lets figure a date first, then pick a spot (east or west) based on where attendees are located.

Me: unavailable 1/25-27. Otherwise, my month is pretty open.

What dates work for others?

I can do 1/22 (Tues), 1/28 (Mon), 1/30 (Wed), or 1/31 (Thurs). (I'm also open next weekend but since the only other response can't do next weekend, I'm going to stick with the safety of weeknights!)

If we go for one of those days, I'm going to lobby for Irving/N. Dallas/Central Dallas/Southlake/Grapevine as I'll already be over towards work and its easy to stay on that side of town vs. leave early/late to deal with Tarrant County traffic.

As of right now, I'm home the week of 1/28, so either Monday the 28th or Wednesday the 30th would work. Something over in the Grapevine area or the 190 / 635 / MacArthur area would be good.
