Location sounds fine.

I was thinking, a brunch might work best. It minizes holiday party conflicts, and the need for us eastsiders to fight rush hour traffic.

That said, the one morning next month I already have brunch plans is the 16th. I'm not sure of my work travel pre-holiday, and toying with the idea of a trip out of town xmas week, so I'm "maybe" for any midweek dates.

The only dates I can make are the 15th and the 16th -- I'm non-commital on the evening of the 15th vs the brunch on the 16th.

I'm out of town after the holidays

Rush hour? What's that? (Laughs the girl who will be driving 30 miles each way every day with the flow of traffic.)

New DFW member

Hi everyone,

I just joined FT and thought it would be great to meet some of the local members.

Please let me know of any upcoming get-togethers.

I've been exploring the website for the past 4 days and just found this thread. I guess I don't travel nearly as much as some of you, Wow!

Look forward to hearing about any December or 2008 meet-ups.

Thanks!

Welcome to FlyerTalk! Make sure you mark this thread. The DFW crew gets together almost every single month. Occasionally we miss a month but we usually make it up with an extra get together somewhere along the way. We try to alternate around different parts of the metroplex - of those who have been most active in the last few months, half of us are in Fort Worth - the other half are in the northeast (Plano/Addison/lake cities) corner of the metroplex - so we often switch back and forth or pick places in the middle.

We look forward to meeting you sometime and helping to fuel the addiction!

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the warm reception!

I live in a small hamlet in southeast Denton County known as Carrollton. A few hundred feet from West, West, Plano, a few hundred feet north of Far North Dallas and a hop, skip and a jump south of Lewisville and the Colony.

See you at the DFW!

Bump... any other DFW regulars want to weigh in?

Pending further hospitalization (don't ask), date(s) look ok.

What does dinner on the 15th look like for folks? Aggie Girl is supposed to be in town so she might be able to join too....

The house will not have furniture yet. Don't ask... I discovered AFTER closing on Friday afternoon that I have what would technically be considered a squatter in my house (she has some legal standing based on an agreement that the seller FORGOT to tell me about - we knew she was there prior to closing but supposedly she would not be there once we closed) so we are having to delay the start of interior contracting while I get her removed.

I'm thinking Lucille's around 7 pm. Predrinks (for those who are interested) at my new place beforehand (say 6 pm?) and post drinks for those who want to make the drive worthwhile at The Gingerman afterwards. All activities on/immediately off Camp Bowie Blvd (between Hulen and Montgomery).

If there is not a third trip to SJC this month I may be able to join you all on the 15th.

I will have to Google map those places since I am not super familiar with the Fort Worth area.

Thanks!

I'm in. Should I bring my own lawn chair for the pre-drinks :)

techgirl Dec 3, 2007 7:46 pm

I have a porch swing and will bring a few chairs with me over there... but if we get more than a half dozen folks, yeah, the BYOLC rule should be in effect! ;)

Most excellent -- I'll throw my two in the trunk. If needed they will be there, if not, no worries ^

I'll send out addresses and directions to the confirmed/probable attendees a couple of days before the shindig....
