Everyone's cameras put the images on memory cards, right? I have one of those little 6-in-1 USB memory card readers that takes all the different card types, so I'll just bring that and that way nobody will have to worry about connecting their cameras. No software required :).

I guess I did not make myself clear in that post. What I meant to say that my discussion with chartreuse had been rendered moot by NickW's announcement that he had extensive photo handling capability that he was bringing with him.

On another tack, the post by platbrownguy reminded me of the look on the Dovster's face the other night at dinner when the conversation wandered over to the subject of the proliferation of platbrowngals. One could just see him mentally wondering and evaluating just where on the scale of women populated by the likes of the UIG and the vanished SAG would he put that group, which he has never seen but imagines as being completely fantastic.

Monitor....I had to laugh at your reference to Dovster's "SAG"!! :D
She was actually the "BAG" but if she HAD been the "SAG", I don't think she would have been the "BAG" to begin with.
A "SAG" doesn't equal a "BAG" in Dovster's book.
I've just confused myself....

Platbrowngal Q it is!

I was sitting in a coffeeshop, reading the paper. Then, all of the sudden, it came to me. I threw my paper onto the table. I'd forgotten about Platbrowngal Q!

She was the one who went on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Europe with me last year, of course she'd want to go to Venice. How could I have forgotten?

I quickly got in contact with her, and she's in. She's also bringing her friend (we can call her PlatbrowngalQ2).

Of course, the day before this all happened, I'd also mentioned the trip to Platbrowndude, and he got the time off from work, so he'll be coming as well. He doesn't eat fish though, so he'll just be hanging out during the dinner.

Myself and the Platbrowngals will be arriving on British Airways at 11:00am as planned, on BA2582, on Friday 11/19.

Platbrowndude, as I'd previously mentioned, will be arriving on Saturday 11/20, well in time for the main meet, and will come in at 4:45pm on BA2584.

We will all be departing on Monday 11/22 at 11:45am on BA2583.

This raises one more question. Do any of the rooms at the Ai Mori have two beds? Should I get Platbrowndude a room somewhere else nearby for Saturday and Sunday (maybe a cancellable reservation)? Should I attempt to use Priceline (and if so what $ amount with what star-rating for an equivalent room)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can't wait to see Dovster's response when he realizes there indeed will be two Platbrowngals in attendance :).

I know for a fact that there will be some meat dishes offered at dinner. O2K shared the menu with me but we decided to keep it "secret" to save on the inevitable bandwidth issue once Dovster saw the menu..... ;)

I guess that I got confused when I remembered that the BAG was from Savannah and somehow I got the S from that city into the acronym. We shall wait to hear from Dovster about two more platbrowngals having materialized. Even tho there may be an extra, the UIG apparently has changed her mind about timing and will probably be in Venice for the entire meet. This will considerably cramp the Dovster's style and force him to admire the platbrowngals from a bit of a distance.

You are worried about Dovsters response? how about the maitre'd at Vino da Gigio when I tell him there, is yet, one more> . Dov, help me out here. I am leaving in the early afternoon and have asked Marco to hook me up with Paulo at Vino Da Gigio ASAP. It now appears that we are plus 30.

:( I PMed you a few hours ago... if there can't be one more meal then so be it - I'm sure one of them would be able to order something off the regular menu or eat elsewhere beforehand... we're not nearly as fussy as it sounds like the staff at this restaurant are - it's still a week beforehand!

O2K can check me if I'm wrong, but from what I can gather I don't think it's a question of them being fussy. I think that it's more a matter of them not having stadium seating in the private room.

platbrownguy...we all envy your footloose and fancy-free style! I've read posts that mention you rarely book your air reservations more than a week or two in advance.
But a lot of us FT'ers are anal to the max. Hell, many of us booked the hotel six months ago and have had seat assigments longer than that....
So bear with us if we freak out over the restaurant arrangements.... :) .

Okay, okay, fair enough. :o

In all fairness, I've never had to book a restaurant in a foreign country for 30 people and I do appreciate all the work O2K and others are doing here, so I'll chill out :).

Thank you Cholula for understanding that I am going just a little bit crazy. I'll be meeting with Matire'd eary in the week. I'll post from AiMori and give an update. Please, Dov--I think our reservation list is now closed.
Of coure, we welcome Nick and Plat-ladies....At some point, I am going to need a final count. Now, have to finish packing.
Off to VCE tomorrow. Any last-minute questions? Now is your chance. I'll check this thread in the AM and then am on my way. (If this post is not clear, bear in mind that all of my glasses are packed and this entire thread is one big blur.

O2K...we all envy you being the first one in Venice!! Have a great trip and thanks to you, Dovster and the many others who have helped organize this.
Viaggio Di Bon...(or at least that's what my language translator says...:). )
