Although Mary is a wonderful woman and I liked her husband immensely, I would like to point out two things:
1. It is in very bad taste for any woman, at any time, to meet me accompanied by her husband! 2. Obscure2K is dead meat. There is no nicer way to put that. It was set in stone from the very moment I cast eyes on that sandwich. It had green and red garbage on it, not to mention other nauseating materials. At this very moment, my UIG's godfather, Don Guido, is making arrangements to have O2K fitted for concrete boots the moment she arrives in Italy. Admittedly, the punishment may not be in proportion to the crime but it was the worst he was willing to do. |

On the O2K thing, please understand that I begged.....pleaded actually....with her and Mary2E not to mess with your food. It appears I was unsuccessful..... |

Now that you mention it, I kinda remember it. My excuse is, been a lot of water under the bridge, been a lot of air under my wings, been a lot of......... |

....Isn't that why you ran? :D |

As for why I ran, isn't that obvious? For two years I have been hitting on every woman on this board and now a bunch of you are going to meet my UIG and tell her. I had no choice but to run -- and as fast as I could! |
Don't forget to bring the Pepto
For those who rely on Pepto Bismol, please note that it is not available in VCE. We discovered this a couple of years ago after DrO2K suffered a particularly nasty bout of reflux.

Urgent message to AF pax
Please be sure to check with AF to see if your flights are still operating. I learned today that AF69 Lax/CDG had been cancelled last march and I was never notified. Fortunately, was able to get my FC seats on earlier flight. This means I will have more time in VCE as we'll arrive about 4 hours earlier.

Is it still flooded over there? Does the forcast include flooding or more rain? I may have to wear my new boots on plane if I can't fit them in my suitcase. Hope they're not real hot.

As of a few days ago when I spoke to HotelAiMori, the weather was warm and the water was low. Of course, this could change in a minute.

I guess that everybody will talk about the weather and also the acqua alta (high water) that comes to Venice at this time of year. Here are a few websites for those who feel compelled to try to outguess the weatherman and the tides:
Libero News at http://news2000.libero.it/meteo/inde...%20-%20Tessera will give you the weather forecast for the next four days (in Italian but very simple to decipher even for the worst languophobe), http://www.comune.venezia.it/maree/astro.asp is a community site with this section devoted to the water. It is completely in Italian and not as easy to decipher as the other but the downloadable calendar seems to show that the tide activity as influenced by the moon phases figures to be relatively low during the period from the 17th thru the 21st, Venice Banana at http://www.venicebanana.com/eng/index.htm is nicely informative, and Cheap Venice at http://www.cheapvenice.com has an interesting article on the high water. Anyhow, whatever the weather, the consensus is that not even the highest water will put much of a dent in our trips over there but since we noticed them, Franny and I both bought some waterproof shoes at the Cole Haan factory outlet in the Meadowlands on the theory that at the price offered, "why not?". |
Wonderful links, Monitor Many Thanks.

If you are interested in learning what is happening to me on my way to Venice, it appears on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...079post3376079.
In fact, it appears there even if you are not interested. Mary's poisonous sandwich is not discussed there. I like Mary. I like her husband. I love the salami. I am not overly impressed by the additions made at the suggestion of cruel, nasty, vengeful, FlyerTalkers. I would take revenge in Venice but I am a coward. |
