Canarsie,

My flight leaves 11:25AM on 11/23. We can share taxi if you don't mind getting to airport early.

I do not mind it at all, MsEverywhere.

Thanks. I look forward to seeing you again.

...oh, well — at least I am the first to ask that question.

So do I need to bring 30 blank compact discs with thin jewel cases or not?I like to walk as well and do not intend to go to a lot of museums.

I will share a water taxi ride from the airport, but it seems that I will be returning to the airport by myself (unless someone wants to or is able to share a ride with me) on November 23, as my flight departs Venice at 12:35 in the afternoon.
Is it worth it for me to purchase any particular Venice Card?

I am happy to bring my own compact disc. Is one enough?

As to the VCE card....I like to walk, too, but since I can't walk on water, we got the orange cards for 7 days. I will also use it for museums & bathrooms, when I am not near one of o2k's list of free ones :p

The card I bought does not include the airport transportation, because we are planning to use the water taxi. For two orange cards for 7 days, we paid 132 euro, and will pick them up at the airport on arrival.

Same here except we bought two of the 3 day cards. We got the bare bones cards.....vaporettos and public bathrooms only. The vaporettos sound like fun and are a unique feature of VCE.
I think I read that it's around 3.5 Euros each way on the vaporettos so if you do any more than 4 RT's on these things, a 3 day card card pays for itself.

This is great news. Will you teach a course in CD burning 101?

----but if we are all "flocky" we will get "sheep"herded by O2K on a hoofing expedition through the Venetian Lowlands on Saturday afternoon.... ;)

I am beginning to suspect that we are all beginning to suffer from an over-exposure to Dovsterisms.

If you don't think you'll be riding the vaporetto that much, the answer is no.

Also, if you change your mind, there are 24-hour and 72-hour transit passes that you can purchase on the spot. (And of course, there is the option of buying single tickets. ;) )

Thank you for the information, athyWdrf (I am still respecting your request for no “K”s).

The only reason why I was considering purchasing the Venice Card is that I did not want to be the only one walking (alone with Dovster, no less!) whilst everyone else uses a vaporetto.

I enjoy walking, so I suppose I will forgo the advance purchase of the Venice Card.

Well, my odyssey begins tomorrow at noon Eastern Standard Time, when I will depart from my home. I will be on no fewer than three separate overnight flights before I arrive in Venice on Friday on my wacky itinerary.

This trip should be interesting...

Canarsie...as the second one to leave on the Great VCE Odyssey...we've yet to hear from the pioneer, O2K....have a good trip to Cyprus! We'll see you in the VCE airport in a few days.
