I seem to remember that Marco Musco was going on vacation until sometime next week. O2K posted this on an earlier thread sometime last week. I just don't remember the exact dates.
Thus his delay in answering.
Vacation or not, I can't believe he doesn't carry a laptop to check for questions from eager FT'ers...;). We do tend to be an anal bunch when it comes to travel arrangements. If I don't have my seats assignments locked in stone six months out, I tend to break out in a cold sweat.....

Finally one useful tip from Dovster!

Thank you for the warning of the checked luggage limit, Dovster, and the very high over-the-weight rate. Not needing too much thinking, I immediately took out half I (over)packed (who doesn't? :o ) and moved the rest to a duffle bag, which weighs considerably less than a regular suitcase.

Now I only have one big duffle, one backpack and one carry-on. Whew!

(Could have been less if not for those bulky sweaters!)

Thanks again for saving me mucho Euros!

Great minds work alike! I've got part of my things packed in my old U.S. Army duffle bag (from 1964!) and the rest in a Samsonite Lite plastic case.

YES! We are defnitely interested in sharing a water taxi. We will have very small suitcases. Mine will fit under the seat in coach, and I've asked Joanne to use an equally small one. Please email or PM me. Thanks!

Dan, you posted that you will be flying in on Swiss on the 19th but did not give the time -- that will help in finding someone to share the wate taxi.

Dovster, who is 31 hours away from starting his odyssey to Venice.

I will have my big carryon (too large to fit under seat) and my backpack that fits under seat.

I have the FT yellow tag on my rollaboard, also. Was everyone going to order the Venice Card listed in post #155? I ordered mine, and will need to go to the station in the airport to buy and pick it up. Would that be a reasonable meeting place?

Dovster Nov 2, 2004 2:05 pm

dedehans, I will have to leave that to O2K -- with all the many times I have been to Venice I have never flown there.

My suggestion: Use "per piacere" in this context. Not "prego".

Your little old Italian mentor,

Also, bear in mind that 'ciumbia! smettila di rompermi i coglioni, minchione' is not the appropriate response to a request to pay for overweight baggage

dedehans, what time do you arrive on the 19th? 10 am?
I arrive at 11, and seeing as how Cholula, Mrs. C., Belle, and Canarsie will fully occupy a water taxi, perhaps we could arrange an 11am taxi-sharing.
