Final year University student seeks US based employment

Lords, Ladies and Gentleman,

In June I will be graduating from University of Southampton (UK) and am hoping to move to the US in early August 2005 to live with my girlfriend in Richmond, VA and I am currently looking for employment.

Although my Geography with Archaeology degree is far from vocational I have learnt many key skills integral to the world of work today including strategic planning of individual research projects, teamwork, planning and working to deadlines and putting together Powerpoint presentations. I have also spent a year of University as part of the University Air Squadron and served with the Royal Air Force as an Officer Cadet. As part of this I built upon many of the principles I learned from going to a military orientated boarding school including, leadership, respect and teamwork.

I have spent my last three summers working full time in banks and building societies (A financial institution owned by its members (rather than by shareholders) which pays interest on deposits and lends money on the security of property to enable members to buy their own homes) both at national and local level. In my role I have learned the importance of dealing with customers, listening to their needs and providing them with a product to match those needs and at the same time have gained a knowledge of interest rates, mortagages and a basic grasp of the economy.

I am not looking for a particular role in any industry at this time, although obviously I would like to both build and enhance the skills I already have and use this to apply myself to new challenges.

If you in the Richmond area and are looking for an amiable, polite humourous, dare I say intelligent, well spoken young British graduate I'd be very happy to speak to you. I am next in the US from 25th March-3rd April inclusive and am more than willing to speak to anybody who thinks I may be suited to their company.

Many thanks
Fraser Davidson

I am an attorney specializing in technology transactions (information technology outsourcing) and government contracts (information technology procurement). I am looking for attorney positions in the greater Washington DC area, preferably in house positions (i.e. not a law firm). Please email me through flyertalk if you know of any such positions.

neurosurg Mar 19, 2005 3:50 pm

Well, I'm a neurosurgeon (in-training), and I don't need a job since residency is pretty much taking all my free time, but I've been known to fly away to different locations every month during my two days off/month (yes I only get two days off a month).

Anyways, I'm up for "hire" if anyone has any medical type questions, and I'll answer them for free, but of course, anything airline related or not to help me enjoy my two days off a month is always appreciated.

(obligatory disclaimer: not to be substituted, of course, for real medical advice from your personal physician who can examine you)

I'll poke myself into the thread and say that we'll still looking for Network/System Admins of all skill levels. A potential (but not promise of travel). But a very fun and challenging environment managing a globally distributed service. Located right next to SJC so you can watch planes when you want.

Throwing my hat back into the ring...

I work(ed) for a "full-service marketing company," specializing in sales and service to Sam's Club and Wal-Mart (in addition to Costco and BJ's Wholesale Club in the past). Eight years experience in merchandising, marketing and sales of consumer packaged goods. Developed and executed new formulations, packaging, promotions and programs. I have experience in pretty much all aspects of the business. I would prefer to stay in the cpg/warehouse club realm, but will consider all offers.

I guess I can say travel is okay :D

Opening for PeopleSoft Financials Trainer

I have an opening for a trainer with PeopleSoft experience. Although the position says OLAP experience too, the company trashed that part of the project...so really I only need a PS Financials trainer.

Here is a link to the job description:

Do a search for Training in Atlanta, GA.

Bonus - you get to travel occasionally to *exotic* locations like BDL, PHL, MSP, and MOT. Now, how many of you can claim you've been to MOT?

Good luck!

Looking for a job, Program/Project Manager - Business Analyst

I never thought the day would come but alas I was just informed that my job was being sent to Bangalore, India which leaves me out of a job with my current employer.

My role was a program manager role where I:
Managed a global program across 7 international sites and 1600+ individual agents in the development and support of a global quality program for the customer care phone support organization. Performed as a liaison between customer care, quality office, and cross-functional support teams on the development of quality audit content and plan execution. Presented at senior management and program staff meetings regarding project status.

Key Accomplishments:
• Recovered an underperforming program by redesigning, integrating, and motivating the site and cross-functional teams through the creation and execution of a new audit strategy in less than 4 months
• Led the development and creation of an audit form and strategy that incorporated critical business elements into the rep-level audit process providing for direct feedback opportunities
• Successfully launched re-designed program and transitioned role to an international workforce with on-time delivery and execution against transition plan

Sorry to post part of my resume but I wanted to make sure that if someone was going to reply back I wanted them to know what I had most recently done and I think my resume says it better than I can re-word it :)

I am currently in school (University of Phoenix - Online) working towards my Bachelors in Business Management and have about one year left on that. I hold a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and am famaliar with JMP and stats/advanced methods.

Obviously travel is not a problem and nor is relocation; I live in Austin, TX now but am willing to consider moving anywhere really, you only live once!

So, if anyone is interested please contact me via Flyertalk or email me directly at (email disguised so BOT programs cant spam me): corey78 at grandecom dot net.

Thanks so much for your time/consideration!

Looking for CIO / VP IT / Dir IT position

I orginally posted this in Omni and was referred over to this thread.

My company is in the process of moving all of its operations from the US to the PRC. While I have been offerred a job in the PRC, it's not something I'm interested in pursuing.

If you know of any CIO/VP of IT jobs out there in the US, I'd appreciate a pointer in a private message. I would also entertain a director-level position at a larger company.

I am visiting several of the big job boards (Monster, Hotjobs, eKornFerry, Upladder, Dice, 6figurejobs), so if its posted there, chances are I've already seen it.

Thanks for your time.

Going back to school in the fall to start a Masters in Public Policy program at an Ivy. In my experience with business school, the summer internship process starts early in the fall, so I'm jumping the gun.

I'd like to put in a summer at a well known consulting firm in a field related to my (future) MPP degree, so if anyone wants to (eventually) pass along my resume, I'll be eternally grateful. (Advice and such welcome, as well :) )
