If we can find reasonable tickets, we just might do this.

This could help us deal with the new UA SWU's expiring at the end of January instead of March.

We'll be there (this time I promise)

I am off to SIN tonight actually, anyhow, having been no shows last year, we will be there in 2005 ! Now that my job has changed, the end of financial year deadlines will no longer keep me desk bound in HKG.

Well I would say that is rather fantastic news!

So, January in SIN, February in PVG, New York Bar (PHT) in March maybe?

I shall get myself busy with updating the website very shorytly.

Welcome aboard gentlemen.

well, upgrades & cheap fares willing i'm there. i'm saving 2 swu's for this assuming it will work out.

while i hate the end of jan as expiration date i realize it's cuz unlike when it was paper & it took 2 months to get to us, this time they're actually pretty good about depositing them electronically so same amount of time in terms of use.

i do need hilton or marriott to drop their rates though - right now both showing high.

I've been checking flights on UA RNO-SFO-SIN perhaps weekly recently. Today I notice the price has fallen from ~$1100 to $885.70 (Fare=V). This is for Jan. 13-17, which is not a 6 day stay. SFO-SIN & LAX-SIN are $721.70. I wonder if this is as good as it gets, or whether a further price decrease might be expected by waiting until the fall?

Well spotted. I'm glad you posted, as I haven't even been doing fare checks.

It's $885 out of SAN and CLD as well. I'd buy in the $700 range and get in the queue for upgrades. But a fare close to $900 bites. I'm going to keep waiting to see if the UA employees get Friends and Family certs in the fall. 15% off would certainly made any fare appealing.

Just for kicks, I checked an outbound to SIN in January, and a return from Shanghai in February. The fare popped to $1400 - so much for my hope that I could achieve a lower fare by nesting SAN-SIN/PVG-SAN and SIN-SAN/SAN-PVG.

Well this year I'll really need to push to requalify and get those SWU's for those monsters I've created SIN in January is a wonderful way to start.

Put me down as a maybe + 1.

Hopefully my cousin will get a fast start towards 1K status

$821.70 for the v-fare, given that the Q fares have been pricing out at $1345 for the past month. Good enough for me since the upgrades are confirmed for all segments (with Sweet Willie hopefully soon to make it 3 Cgo FTers on the upper deck Which also means someone to take pictures of me climbing over the top of seat 15A enroute from HKG-SIN )
