SIN Run 05 a.k.a. The Pepper Crab Do is a Go, Go, Go!

And back due to popular demand........

One and all definite, possible, or just simply dreaming about it FlyerTalkers, the SIN RUN 2005 or as we have decided to dub it this year the Pepper Crab Do 2005 is now in full plan mode.

The webpage is up and will be kept current. You can find it at:

http://home.inter.net/mjm/sinrun05.html

SIN RUN 2004 had FTers from all over the globe arriving in Singapore with a single purpose, a major crab feast.

This year the main event is dinner on Saturday, January 15, 2004, and we are adding a second day munch in the form of a Sunday Afternoon Food Court Lunch Run hosted by our own transpac. All in all I would recommend eating light for the few days building up to this party on the equator.

Last year many of us met up at the Conrad for pre-dinner drinks and then shared a van (same fare per person as a taxi) to and back from the restaurant. Same again this year I am sure. Some go directly from other hotels, shopping, or sightseeing expeditions and meet at the restaurant directly. A new restaurant this year for returning Crab fans so be sure to check the webpage for a map and details of the Geylang location.

Post here if you will join, or if you just have questions or comments.

Kick off the year with a big mileage boost and join us in SIN!

See you there,

Mike

Please list me as a "Maybe." I am considering a RTW run on SQ or SQ/CO.

Wow, are you flying on SQ's new EWR-SIN nonstop?

It's very tempting .. I might just do that if fares don't come down at all.

Yes, on the return. Outbound I'm doing JFK-FRA-SIN in Raffles, with the non stop on my return. The JFK flight leaves at 9pm, with the non stop out of EWR leaving at 11:15pm-- call me insane, but I didn't want to wait around till almost midnight for my flight out. This way I can leave work at 6 ish, and get out to JFK, as I really didn't want to work all day, come home (get comfy) then pack up and leave for the ariport!! The diff in fare was about $300 (non stop r/t was $5800). I had a credit of $4000 which was applied to the fare, so it wasn't all that bad.

Count me in

Right now the best UA fares ex PHX are around $1100 for a Q. I am assuming there will cheaper fares as the time draws closer.

I will be doing a 2 or 3 week trip and go to some other parts of southeast Asia.

Factor in more time at the new Virgin Atlantic Lounge in JFK. Have not been to the JFK one, but from what I've seen from other Virgin Lounges, they are really cool.
