Sorry for not responding sooner!
When I arrive at MCI Thursday afternoon I plan to stick around to pick up cocobird (bdnyc also if he so desires), which should get us to Hotel KC around 6 or so. Does 7:00 or 7:30 work for folks? I haven't tried to make a reservation yet. I see a maximum of 5 currently interested (me, cocobird, bdnyc, susiesan, and Holland).

FYI, there are shenanigans at the The Westin. I saw a second reservation on my profile this evening for a standard room with two double beds that I never made. Oddly, the rate was "complimentary" but still showed $7.11 in taxes and fees. Apparently this was done by the front desk and Marriott has opened a case file.

I could meet you closer to the airport to shave some time off (Scott's Kitchen is closed on Sundays so I'm sure I could use a spot in their lot just for the day), or I'm still happy to drive half the group. I have a K-tag in my truck so disabling "avoid tolls" on the map will shave off 45 min off your times. The tolls between KC and MHK aren't much - a few dollars if memory serves - as long as you can hide the transponder in your rental car and get a cash receipt to prove to Avis you paid the toll already... . K-tags let you blow through the gates at 55mph which is nice, and offer a small discount on the tolls. If you knock off the tolls and I meet you so you don't have to come fetch me in Smithville, It drops the drive time by nearly an hour (more time @ lunch or the ghost towns).
I can also meet at the Westin or wherever and pick a few folks up, and make a stop at the airport on the way back. Whatever works.

Friday plans
I believe the majority are staying at the Westin or very close to it! I can take five passenger in my car (and a bit of luggage if necessary). Looks like the weather is going to be great next weekend! We dodged some severe storms this weekend.
As some final reminders, Char Bar wants to put us all on one check, so please be prepared to pay via cash or Venmo/Zelle/Paypal. It worked quite well last year with Q39, so I am hopeful for the same this year
I look forward to seeing you all on Friday! I work Thursday night, so I plan to be in KC around noon.

Purchased my KC beer pass and just landed at MCI. Found a couple breweries downtown on the list that are open until 10PM. Anyone interested in grabbing a beer? Probably a little after 9PM.
edit: did not make it to the hotel in time to settle in and visit a brewery. Tomorrow I suppose!

MiniCoffeeTraveler is quite excited for the Do
Had some time to look through photos from today's journey to MCI and thought people would appreciate some toddler enthusiasm for the Do. She’s currently resting up in preparation for a lot of museums and parks on Friday.

Thanks. My flight is arriving early, so I'll definitely be there. I'll plan to be in the lobby by 3:40.

En route to the Westin; anyone still have carpool space from there to afternoon drinks?

I was delAAyed in CLT due to a broken Airbus (a.k.a a day ending in Y). But should be on the ground in 40 minutes. If anyone needs anything from Walmart (specifically the liquor section) please text me.
