WARNING ... arriving into Dulles today took about TWO HOURS ... biggest customs crackdown I have EVER seen. EVERYONE got a long quizzing and HEAPS got bag searched. That and this stooopid fingerprint/photo deal for 600 folks in front of us ... UA Rio, Sao Paulo and EZE flights all arrived at noce, and it was insane. Agents have no clue what they are doing yet. Missed UA connex by the truckload I can tell ya. AND US citizens too .. no exceptions.

Yay! I'm glad you guys are thinking the same way I am! I just posted a thread looking for Happy Hour buddies in the DC area in the Miles section.

Looks like I missed the January get together, but I am totally up for February! Anytime except 2/12-2/16 is fine with me--I am doing a mileage run to SIN then. Something along the metro would be preferable since I work downtown and won't have my car handy. Look forward to meeting you all!

It was really nice to trek out to "the boonies" and meet you some more of you folks! The Fish Market in Alexandria is a GREAT place and not a bad walk (or just a 5-minute bus ride) from the King Street Metro so it's easy to get to. Looking forward to seeing more FT-ers on the 5th!

Just a friendly little bump back to the top to remind people about the Happy Hour 2 weeks from today.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I probably will be missing this Happy Hour too. I was planning a little mileage run/mini-vacation for the weekend of the 19th-23rd, but a girl from my office who does the same job I do will be out that week in Trinidad on vacation, so I had to reprice it for another weekend and the only dates that both the airline & I have available is 2/5 to 2/9 - I've gotten the time off from work, and the reservation on hold, but now I've got to go to the airport to ticket it, so we'll see if they let me keep it!

What airline? I may have expiring discount certs.

Who all can make it on 2/5?

If it meets the fare basis restrictions and it prices out, why not sell it? They told me if I wanted to book it online with my credit card, go ahead - but I wanted to use the TCV. Oh well, I just booked a nicely priced run to SMF and a vacation to SAN - and I've got a little bump run in the works, just got to wait for the price to drop later in the year. The previous routing I had gave me about 6K more EQMs than my trips to SMF & SAN will at the same price, but that's okay - I'll make them up somehow - if there's a will, there's a way. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

What/where/who is MLL?

Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Pass - expiring on 2/29/04 - says that you have to be travelling on a AC ticket, but you may get lucky - I tried it in LAX, but I didn't get lucky - however, I was on a UA (*alliance) ticket.

I have some UA drink certs to return to you. I hope I remember to bring them along. My MLL trip was in January (nice lounge in Montreal) so I'm all set there.
