Welcome to all of you-from a "lurker". I had to respond to Wanderlust-you do know you're crazy right? I too sat & laughed...it brought back memories of a "meeting" I attended with my ex-father-in-law many moons ago! Keep up the great work

My husband and I love to travel - it is our passion, besides each other. We joined the Travelers Century Club (more than 100 countries) this year. Our last country to bring us in was Yemen! My husband travels quite a bit on business but is due to retire in a few years (he's 62 - passes for 52!). He has been a UAL 1K but now Prem Ex. We have accumulated almost a million miles in various accounts.

I am the accounts manager. Sometimes he goes crazy with the deals, esp credit cards. I don't even give them to him - just charge once and cancel. These companies are nuts but it's their loss. I am not desperate enough to eat Healthy Choice!

The big deal we are looking forward to is Marriott's trip on the Concorde to London. However, in general, we espouse the Erma Bombeck philosophy of travel: do the tough stuff while you are young (everything is relative!). We are focusing on places which are politically volatile and trying to get in during safe windows of opportunity. We went to Cambodia (free tix to Bangkok, then Thai to Cambodia). We are excited that Beirut and Iran are open and plan to go soon. We still have Peru to do before it is too late again. We missed Yugoslavia because it never occurred to us that it would shut down. Later...

We have been to all 7 continents, 50 states, and 6 oceans. Also both above the Arctic and below the Antarctic Circles. We particularly love the 3rd world and old ruins.

My husband is a marketing manager for Varian, selling medical imaging products. I am currently a community volunteer but was once the mayor of our city (small city..). Also a one time real estate broker and computer programmer. We have a 16 year old, well traveled daughter still at home and 3 8/9 grandchildren living with various adult children.

He who dies having seen the most of the earth wins.

It's only because we don't know. Show up at the PIP and ever after we'll all remember you as handsome, dashing, enticing, devastating, gorgeous, beathtaking, whatever. If, of course, we remember anything.......

I am forced to slip back into quiet anonymity, awaiting the time my courage rebuilds.

A reminder:

NJDavid has a Rogue's Gallery of some of our FlyerTalk Community. He welcomes contributions via email or snail mail -- and we love to see new faces to put with the names...

Thanks for reminding everyone....

I have a bunch of pictures I received over the last week including one or two "mugshots" and some new candids of the DC get together and BlondeBomber's visit with Rudi. I've just been swampped with work lately, so It may take a while to do.

Please feel free to e-mail submissions to me, or E-mail me to get a snail mail address if you need me to scan and return your pictures.

If I can, I'll do some of the updates by Tuesday, and the rest the following week.

Thank you NJDavid... We have to make the OMNI Award winning FlyerTalk gallery even better.

Wanderlust: if you are shy then you can start by adding your mug shot to NJDavid's gallery.

And don't be afraid to post YOUR STORY on Baobab's OMNI Award winning "Who We All Are" forum. HECK! Even my cats YAZ & EDDIE put their bios.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Wanderlust: And if you're REALLY shy, you can make that first photo in NJDavid's gallery a shot of the back of your head - or your feet - or your. . .

MileKing, I think it's, "He who dies HAVING USED the most miles, wins".

Ok Rudi, it can be "S/he who dies HAVING USED the most miles, wins". Having been a feminist for longer that most feminists have been alive, I have evolved to the point where I assume that "He" is an all-inclusive word, like "mankind" and that "she" is reserved specific references to the fairer (finer) sex.

As an interim (before David gets more pics up on Tuesday), I have created a page (probably too large and slow loading--it's about 200K!) but for those who really want to see the Swiss Flyer Talk get together, here it is.
