Thanks, BB

.. for newcomers who haven't read the old thread, it was started primarily as a way to find out more about the personalities behind the travel itineraries.

The tree is interested in people: what interests you and why you travel, not merely the information that can be found on your ff statements.

I used to be a frequent visitor and poster on this board. Then it degenerated into arbitrary and capricious censorship. Couple that with an inordinate amount of technical problems and the forum has become a shadow of its former self...

In its most recent iteration, FT has made me and several other "senior" posters personna non grata.

That's OK -- I've been PNG'd by third rate countries before and at least they were honorable about it...

I am a crotchety shell of a man. Worn down by time and travel, I am most interested in decreasing my rate of climb. I serve no interest but my own, and am undiplomatic and unapologetic in my approach to the world. I am least interested in those who are self-important, overly poetic or think that they are smarter than they are. I have made a living of laying these types low.

I have already made some enemies on this board, which pleases me greatly. I measure my success by the nature of my enemies. You can call me a troll, but I am the voice of truth, justice, reason, and the AMERICAN way.

What makes me smile: Accuricy, exactnes and doing it rite the frist time. And those who would point out the lack thereof.

Props to you, Baobab, for your forthrightness. You are clearly a busy executive on the "go."

See you in (or, for many of you - from) the skies.

I am the spirit of the great and wonderful and handsome and smart and good hearted and everyone's best friend CATMAN who was deleted (But thanks to the webmasters at Inside Flyer was resurrected and can MEOW again.)

I am ageless and one of CATMAN's human identity's NINE lives who is an elite member of every airline, hotel and car rental program (being a ghost, my miles and points never expire or I will HAUNT THEM!)

I love to travel, first class of course and for those who are nice to my ulter ego CATMAN I bring good luck and happiness and love. For those who make the CATMAN cry I haunt them day and night until they apologize to the nice CATMAN.

My distant relative (three times removed) is Arturo. I don't deal with Emmett, Nancy and Roberto because they were nasty to my mortal cousins YAZ & EDDIE

SO for CATMAN's Friends on the board and ELSEWHERE -- Have A MEOWY DAY!!!

My name is Mark. I am in Clinical Research (human trials). Pharmaceutical companies hire my company to ensure that investigational drugs (drugs not approved by the FDA) are used and tested in accordance with federal laws and FDA guidelines. I am 30 years old and reside in Austin, TX (a transplant from San Francisco, CA).

With the job comes the traveling. I go wherever the drug I am assigned to gets tested. I've been to every state in the US (with the exception of ND and SD) and have been to just about every continent (except South America and Africa). With all this traveling, I have MM and PM status with DL and Platinum Elite with CO. I usually fly 160K base miles a year. Thanks to my parents, I am a die-hard SQ fan, having traveled on SQ's Raffles and First class since the mid 70s.

I love nature (and trees), hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. I am an avid tennis fan and know everything there is about the sport but sad to say, I don't play it at all.

(I will be cheering for Rudy at the PiP-- hey, he's played in Wimbledon).

AusTXHiker -- you work for SCIREX by any chance? I was coming home from a conference one time, and was sitting next to a lady who worked for them, and I beleive she said their corp office was in AUS. I beleive she's based in the Philly area though.

My name is Malik and I am lapsed attorney. I am now in grad school at the University of Penn. School of Education. I am thirty years old but a "student" again. I don't fly all that often but with the help of webflyer and now flyer talk I have been able to accumulate miles. I sign up for all bonus and I average about 20,000 miles a year from long distance by switching. If MCI keeps the 25,000 I should break 80,000 this year. This along with the bonuses when I do fly and healthy chocie for lunch should help me continue flying when I set off to save the world.

You guy have been a great help and are extremely knowldgeable and I want to be just like you when I grow up.

Hi, my name's Bob and I'm addicted to miles.

Hi, Bob.

It all started when I found a forum on the internet. Now I can't stop filling out new credit card applications and making long distance prank calls to India with my MCI calling card. My wife and kids have left. My dog hates me. I don't care about my tv remote any more. I can't sleep. I just sit in front of the computer eating my Healthy Choice tv dinners, glued to webflyer, hoping someone will post something new soon so I can spend money on things I don't need, just so I can get MORE MILES, MORE MILES, I NEED MORE MILES!! I...just...can't...stop.

You're not alone, Bob. We're here to help.

Thanks. Thanks a lot. Um, anyone wanna sign up for an ETrade account?

Welcome new members and members who are only now posting their bios...

OMNI: It's nice so many Flyertalkers have senses of humour. That's another reason why I come on board here almost daily... just to get a few yuks and feel better after working with the deadly dull family.

And at least most of us are NOT CATTY!

MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!!!

Wanderlust,

I came on line, finally having woked up the courage to tell you all who I really am.

But wait, before I tell my story, let me read the newest posts.

There he is Bob (a/k/a Wanderust). Funny, witty, brilliant, charming. Flat out Hysterical. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. It's the funniest post I have read in days. Well maybe weeks, or months. OK its the funniest post I have ever read. I am delighted.

But....I could never be THAT funny. Why try? I am forced to slip back into quiet anonymity, awaiting the time my courage rebuilds.

Mileshog: Please come back!!! I've never seen any censorship on this board, and I'm sure CATMAN would set his claws on it if any appeared. What's your specific problem?
