Looks like I will be joining you folks for part of the weekend, at least. While I would love to do the Boeing Tour, can't make it to SEA until 1pm at the very earliest on Friday. Will do Hunki's Friday evening, but I am not a sailor, so just the Brewery Tour on Saturday. [Printed off my RedHook coupon.] Will check to see how to make prepayment for dinner Saturday if more can be added. Then off on Amtrak to Eugene Sunday early am for my summer vacation..

Once you officially RSVP on the SEADOO website, I'll send out payment info.

Muerz has a new web site with reviews of Hyatt Hotels, including the Elliott Grand in downtown Seattle, at http://www.union.lu/hyatt/

Ref: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum60/HTML/000803.html

Does anyone know how much it costs to park there, and any less-expensive alternatives? Is there a fee for 1-800 phone calls for the Priceline-privileged but status-challenged?

Tip for Travellers: Walking with a backpack loaded with two gallon-jugs of water is better exercise than regular walking. If you get tired, empty the water bottles.

I would strongly urge you not to have a car while you're in SEA unless you want to do a day trip somewhere. Parking is expensive. At the Hyatt it is $25 per night (about). You can park next door for $4 for 3 hours, but then it jumps to $6 for 4 hours, etc. Also they do not have overnight parking. There is a Hertz rental car agency next to the Hyatt in case you want/need to rent a car for the day.

Public transportation in and around downtown is free and easy to catch - bus. There is the monorail from Westlake to Seattle Center that runs $2.50 round trip. And of course, there are always your feet! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Also I do believe that like every other hotel, there is a charge for 1-800 numbers but you may want to call the Hyatt yourself to find out.

Depending on your plans, you may be able to rely on public transportation for your stay. Email me with your trip details and I'll give you a "local" opinion http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I believe parking is $26 Valet and $22 Self park, so you may want to skip getting a car. Most Hyatts charge $1 for 800 calls, so this one is probably no different, but they do have free high speed internet access. If you can score that $40 Priceline rate, it is the an excellent bargin.

It's odd that the nicer chains typically charge the fee, but the cheaper ones don't.

And, as a gold HHonors I don't have to pay at Hiltons, but non-status patrons do.

I'm very glad to read that Elliott Grand Hyatt has free high-speed internet!

Great! I hope I'm not crashing the party. I've got a ticket to Friday's game, and I would like to attend the Boeing tour and Desert Fire.

Is anyone interested in touring a few wineries on Saturday morning? I will have a rental vehicle of some sort and can offer some transportation.

This would be before the Red Hook brewery tour.
