Dan you are going to need room in your suitcase for clothes too, so thanks for the offer, but I think I am good. Will hit you up for a tasting tour in Brooklyn next time so I'll take a rain check. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I forgot to ask earlier, is anyone attending staying at the Hilton downtown?

prncess674 Jun 30, 2002 6:25 pm

Is there an "official" hotel for this event? Where are most people staying? I am going to do some airline ticket research tonight and really get on this project. I have seen pictures from DC and don't want to miss out on the SEA Do fun!

We don't have an "Official" Hotel, but so far it looks like theres a pretty large Hyatt Contingent, followed closely by the W and Westin.

The Seattle Downtown Hilton is the absolute WORST Hilton in the world.

If you can help it, do not stay there.

Sounds like the party is on in Hammer's room to me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Just phoned Hyatt in a masterstoke of ozzie lateral GENIUS to use a United '50% off' cert. Yes, they had inventory. Great. Yes, the cert was good. Even greater. And yes, the deal was all mine for 50% off the rack rate. Yippee. I asked politely what that rack rate was. $365 a night plus 15% tax. I kid you not. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Grand Hyatt $138 - Internet Only special
Westin $159
Renaissance $159
Hotel Monaco $170
W $179
Sheraton $199

Four Seasons $285

Appreciate you taking the trouble to post actual rates for nice hotels MissyDarlin. Helps greatly with Priceline bidding guidance etc.

For anyone who has NOT booked yet, just got The Monaco on Priceline for $80 for Friday night, after starting at $40 and bidding upwards a dozen times. Nothing lower worked. Not sure where 1101 4th is v/s Hyatt at 721 Pine, (close by?) but darn nuisance needing to move bags there for 2 nights after Friday night. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif

Oz,

It's about 4 blocks....you'll be right across the street from the crowd staying at the W http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Does that mean if I get really drunk I can sleep in your heavenly bathtub? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

On a serious note, I have a double room in the Hilton, although am trying to change to Homewood Suites, so if anyone does need to crash at mine, just shout.

I am not an axe-murdered, don't snore and have relatively clean feet. The perfect roommate!

>>Not sure where 1101 4th is v/s Hyatt at 721 Pine, (close by?)<<

Looks like it works out to about 8 blocks on Mapquest. Head NW on 4th and then make a right turn onto Pine.

Well, the room Dogstar is looking for is for 3 of us (him, me, and MPC1.

I'm hoping he's having luck......

...Dogstar where are you?

And we were wondering about transportation....
...I'm asuming with a rental, car % parking fees is a waste of time and we'll just be cabbin' it.
What are others doing??
