Dan,

Since the Angels are catching up with the M's, can you bring me a Yankees hat to wear so that I can blend in with the crowd?

Considering that this is my 2nd post, I am truely at Newbie status. I have a couple questions:

1. How much harassment would I need to expect from the regulars? lol (yes I just found out what HH meant)

2. The more serious question: Where are people generally staying (other than a hotel - which ones)?

3. How will I recognize anyone? The directions that I think I could almost follow would be:
Go north until it is cold and west until it's rainy/cloudy and look for the nearest beer place and look for the boisterous people.
And for some reason (just on a fluke of reading too many of these postings), I am thinking where ever the beer is, so too Chex will be and I have seen a picture of him lol.

We're pretty tame...the worst that will happen is that you'll have to eat a shrimp that someone found on the ground

2. The more serious question: Where are people generally staying (other than a hotel - which ones)?

Most of us are at the Hyatt, Sheraton, W, Westin, Hilton, and Hotel Monaco.

That is correct We'll have nametags as well. Or just ask for the group with the 32 page bar tab.

I'm delighted that I could play such a key role in a bit of FT lore at my first FT event.

At Sea Doo III, I was wandering around the lounge at Gordon Biersch, not knowing anybody, not knowing where to find anybody. Finally, it occurred to me. What would a bunch of people interested in stuff like hotel status and mileage runs and the best seats on 767-200s look like? They'd be dorks like me. Sure enough, I found 'em on the first try.

In ANC in December, eastwest had a good idea--he just sat at a table with a FlyerTalk luggage tag prominently displayed.

I was up in Washington state this weekend (gorgeous weather), and besides Seattle, spent time in Port Townsend and the Olympic National Park. ldsant was a delightful host in Seattle. I'll be coming up for the August get together, but here's some photos I've quickly uploaded before I head in for work for those that have not been there before, or just want to see how nice it was this weekend.

If you go too far north you'll end up in Northern USA where you'll be asked for some ID & your currency is worth double than back back home. But this ain't no Seattle! And if that isn't enough everyone speaks with a strange accent with every sentence ending in "eh".

I AM CANADIAN!

Cheers. Dogstar, eh.

Im not sure if this was already posted, but it looks like there are rooms available at the Grand Hyatt on Priceline for $40 for this weekend.

You are 100% correct. I noticed this post a few hours back.

I have never seen such yo-yoing inventory on PL for same property. $95 rejected and then $40 accepted etc.

Priceline inventory can be quite frustrating. You are thrilled when you get what you want at a great price, and frustrated when you cant. As Sheryl always says Just be Patient.

It was ever weirder, as lots of us got rooms first at $40, then nothing under $90 was being released now they drop way back to $40. Same hotel, same dates. I phoned Hotel direct when $80 was not getting me the extra night and was told PL "still had inventory unused". Go figger that business plan out.

Ugh! Just rebid 8/16-8/18, 8/16-8/17, 8/17-8/18 from $40 to $60 without a bite!

Still trying... I won't be beat yet!
