Hey Hypocrite,
More than one member has asked you to reveal all of your secret identities. As of now, you still refuse to do so. You have made false accusations against me and QL within this thread and accusations against Premex and cigarman in others. All is not forgiven. members who have witnessed your pathetic behaviour will always be around to remind the unsuspecting that you have no credibility. ------------------ Futility = Engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. |
I have an idea, Randy, please shut this entire site down for the rest of the year, like a mini vacation... nobody posts anything, everyone please go enjoy the holiday season, leave this off for a couple of weeks.... then we start anew the beginning of 2001! the real millenium!
for those still would like to spar, you have each other's email addresses.... Season's Greetings and Peace to all... belle |

I ask, no make that implore, one of the forum leader (Administrator, Moderator) to please put an end to this whiny, non-BUZZ-worthy, waste-of-time thread.

Sheezz... I didn't take the time to read this whole thread, and have not commented on this issue prior. The number of post in such a short period is amazing. I really don't see why this became such a big issue. One of the first lessons you learn online is to never assume you know the identity of someone else.
I'm sure everyone knows to take what the read online with a grain of salt (and skepticism). Take personal disagreements offline. I for one encourage and enjoy a lively debate, but I really think this is sophomoric and needs to stop. All that being said, time to put in the P.C. disclaimer. I'm sure by the number of posts about this stuff people have some strong feelings. I'm not taking side or trying to offend anyone. I just want to get back to the original purpose of the board, and think the best way is for disagreements and flaming to be handled off-line. Happy Holidays, Peace on Earth, and may the new year bring good fortune to you all, Freefaller12k |
I have met Quiet Lion he is as sincere as one can be. I doubt he even knows how to be dishonest. I think he is a asset to this board.

His name was Gavrillo Princip (member of "The Black Hand"). My best friend in HS and I agreed this to be one of the most essoteric things we learned in History class. I knew it would come back to me someday (although I was hoping it would be during Final Jeopardy as I was going for my 5th win). |
Gavrillo Princip, the man responsible for the accelerating the break-up of the English Empire, the ascension of the US into a super-power, Communism in Eastern Europe and the death of tens of millions soldiers and civilians...
(Taking WAAAAAAAY too many liberties here, folks... Please don't blast me - I'm just having a little fun with revisionist history) Had he not set off a chain of events leading to World War I, Germany would not have suffered defeat and the Treaty of Versailles. Adolf Hitler used public outrage against this treaty to rally Germans to the Nazi party and lay claims to land belonging to Germany prior to the treaty. Through the policy of appeasement, he reacquired these lands, while simulataneously surrounding himself with the myth that he could do no wrong propogated amongst his generals and the populace. Without Hitler, there's no World War II. World War II and the strain it put on the English colonies hastened their bid for freedom from colonialism. Most European powers had their industries and population centers decimated by war, requiring all available efforts to be placed into domestic rather than military projects. And without WW II, Soviet expansion into Europe would have been met with force - certainly not being welcomed as liberating heroes. Makes you think... ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own." |
I couldn't pull the name, Gavrillo Princip, out of my head, and as a rule I don't like to rely on research to post on FT. One bit of trivia, because he was a minor, he was not executed for the ArchDuke's murder, but was given life in prison, but died soon afterwards of TB.

Ok.
Now it's time for the voice of reason to chime in. I read the first dozen posts, then skipped to the end. Here's my advice: ENOUGH ALREADY. All of you for 'having fun' continuing to fuel the fire. I think it's time to let it drop. I've already had the pleasure of meeting about 10 talkers since September. All nice. And I know that if everyone here who has posted were to meet tomorrow, we'd have a great time. But I also know, that the following day, people would be fighting again. I used to (underline USED to), spend time on AOL's Brooklyn boards. That was before they broke up. And you know why they broke up? That's right. They went through the same thing we're going through here. You know folks, one day you're going to show up to these boards and No one will be here! Consider this friendly advice from dhammer53. I like these boards and want to see them remain. So let's consider this thread dead at midnight Pacific time. Happy Holidays, Dan <<< always use my real name. |
