Looks great, I can't wait. Now excuse me whilst I go and actually book some flights. And maybe a hotel while I'm at it.

Edit to add: DONE! I'll meet up with you guys on Friday evening

For someone who has never attended a Do: What is a "Do"?
Just a meeting / gathering of forum users to meet each other and enjoy some time, eat good food, enjoy some beers, wine, whisky? And, perhaps, get to know some friendly people from anywhere?

If so: I am so very disappointed, that during this event, I might enjoy some Korean BBQ while being in South Korea myself.
OK, after writing this, I am not really disappointed but it might have been fun ... ;-)
See you guys next time.

PS: My grandfather worked as an engineer at THF for about 15 years until 1967 - please enjoy his home away from home, as he liked to call Tempelhof!

Sorry to miss you at the Berlin Do, Askartus! You guessed it right. A FlyerTalk Do is a gathering of FlyerTalkers which can be just a meal with half a dozen people or a weekend of eating, drinking, sightseeing, talking about miles and points or just enjoying meeting new and old friends from all over the world. If you look at the attendee list you will find there will be quite a few people form the US, as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several European countries including Germany!

You may like to keep an eye on future Dos in this thread which also includes lists of past Dos: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...st-thread.html

And in some good news, if our numbers go beyond 35, we will be fine. The providers who I am working with to make this happen have provided a solution if we are going to be a larger group.

A booking link will hopefully go live later this week.

Good to hear. What you've got lined up looks great; I'm looking forward to returning to Berlin.

BK convinced me that I'd have a great time at this DO so I'm in. Just booked:

Friday Oct 7 KLM 1821
Sun Oct 9 KLM 1824

I haven't been to Berlin since 1998 so this should be interesting.

This looks like a great event. Was waiting for a meeting down under to be cancelled, but alas, wasn't. I'll join you next year, hopefully

For those interested in the Berlin beer scene, Draft magazine has a great article. I'm sure *A Flyer can tell us what they got right and wrong, and what they missed!

Hi everyone

The registration page is now open at https://berlindo2016.eventbrite.com.

Please note that registration for the organised tours closes on 5 September. This is to allow sufficient time for the tour operators to arrange guides for us. The final cost of tours will be calculated after this date and there are no guarantees that late registration can be accepted.

Dinner venues will be confirmed once numbers have been locked in for each meal.

Cheers
