I think we should take the private room for 15, fill it at 8:30 and then build the second table as soon as they can do it. Otherwise we may not be eating until 10:00pm. 2 years ago we were in one of the side rooms for 15 and it worked out perfectly. We could probably squeeze more in if need be. I can guarantee there will be 2 of us Friday for sure since I live in KC.
I am certainly not against having some people take the private room of 15 first. I don't mind eating later and want to make sure my guests are taken care of first. Thanks for putting that together susiesan..

I'm scheduled to arrive at MCI at 7:11 pm, and will head straight to Jack Stack's -- even foregoing the discount chocolates at Christopher Elbow. JayhawkCO arranged the private room in 2012, which I thought was great: the noise level was appreciably lower than in the main restaurant and we could talk miles and points (plus BBQ) without having to shout.

Spots will be first come first serve at the table of 15. Hopefully, it will not be an issue and we will be able to have another table available to accommodate the rest of our group. As I stated, I will be taking a spot at the second table. I would expect that some folks will want to tour First Fridays by foot as well. 3 days to go!!!

Two years ago, the early arrivers had drinks at the restaurant next door, Grunauer.

It was far less crowded and the bar area is much larger. Perhaps we could put our name in at Jack Stack for the private room and large table and then go next door to drink and socialize. Jack Stack could text someone when the tables are ready. If the weather is nice, there is an outside patio for the cocktails.

There is another restaurant right there, Lidia's, and I know it has a patio. But I don't know if it's for dining only or it could be used for cocktails.

Did Jack Stack close their patio? I know it wasn't large but they used to have one.

From what I recall, last year the patio to the right of the entrance way was being used by someone having a wedding reception in a private room at the front that the patio was off of. There might have been a second one on the left side of the entrance way, but it would be small and probably packed unless an early arriver was able to secure it for all of us.

I'm in for 1 at least. I think a few others are coming too. I'll poke them

I'm driving up from TUL at 8am. I should arrive after lunch. I'm planning to stop at Woodyard to try it out then grab a few local brews and show up early to Jack Stack.

I am driving so I can provide transport if need be.

I'm staying at the Westin and my suite upgrade cleared so I'm ready to rock.

If you need/want my cell or need a ride, PM me

Finally was able to change my return flight to Sunday night so looks like I'll be going to the Tigers vs Royals game Sunday afternoon. Going to buy my ticket when I get to the stadium. If anyone wants to join me let me know.

In between BBQ, I know some like to hit up the casino and such. I may go find some of the local breweries and sample some craft beer. I'll put a feeler out here and on Friday night to see who else might be interested.

Looking forward to meeting everyone again and seeing new faces!

I have a confession to make. I snuck into KC last weekend without you guys, as I can't make it this weekend. On the bright side, I can attest that the BBQ is as good as always The patio to the left of Jack Stack's entrance was open, and the area to the right was being used for a wedding(?) party. Have fun!
