Updating post# 2 with solid plans for the next few meals:
- Saturday's Armenia meal is being moved to 2pm. 5 people are confirmed at the moment, but there should be space for more if anyone else would like to join.
- Meal #9 - Australia will be held Sunday, October 20 at 7pm at The Australian in Midtown.
- Meal #10 - Austria is tentatively planned for November 8, pending the availability of a few parties who have expressed interest. The location is still TBD and suggestions are welcome.

Meal #8 - Armenia at Sevan in Bayside, Queens was a pleasant surprise, even if it did start a bit later than expected thanks to my misplaced trust in the business hours printed on a scanned take-out menu .. Luckily the owner was sympathetic to our cause and agreed to open an hour earlier than usual.
A few pictures from the meal. Perhaps I'll get become less averse to taking pictures of food at restaurants as I move farther down the list
Kotayk - A hoppy import from the town of Abovyan
"Armenian Cutlet"
A dumplings dish - "Manti", I believe
Desserts - "Pakhlava" and "Khadaifi"
up next... Australia on October 20. See Post #2 for up-to-date information.

Interesting question raised by an article in last Thursday's NYT http://travel.nytimes.com/2013/10/17...ef=travel&_r=0
Would the cuisine from Myanmar be catagorized in this thread as under "M" or would it go under "B" for Burmese and therefore be coming up for AW5B much sooner?

Meal(s) # 9 - Australia
Since I had more than one recommendation, the Australian meal became a two-part endeavour. While making my way around the city to see a few of the Banksy pieces, I stopped at Tuck Shop's East Village location, where I had my first (and certainly not last) Aussie meat pie.
Later in the evening, the Mrs. and I were joined by the Australia native PbodyPhoto and a friend at The Australian in Midtown, where we enjoyed kangaroo, barramundi, and Coopers ales . Much to the dismay of the table, the restaurant's Tim Tams supply had been exhausted earlier in the day.
Next up.. Austria
