For some strangely perverse reason my wife & I have decided to come to New York for Thanksgiving this year
If you're planning anything for that week we would love to join you, but realise that it may not be possible that week When are you arriving/departing? |

It's nice to see you return for what use to be an annual visit Mate. ;)
When are you arriving/departing? We're in town Tuesday to Sunday 25th - 30th Staying in Brooklyn of course ;) |
I'd love to join in for the next one. When it's planned?
Is there by any chance to organize something for this Friday 31? I know it's the last minute, but I just found out about this great thread. I love ethnic foods and explore them. So this is perfect for me. I will be in the city this Friday. |

Unfortunately I won't be able to make this Friday work. I'm going to try to arrange one (Brunei, if I can find ambuyat somewhere in the city) for the weekend of 11/15-16, then one or two more before the end of the year. Hope you'll be able to join us soon!
Not sure I will be in NYC in November. But definitely I will make it sometime. |

I would like to join. Nov 15 works better for me. |
It looks like I'm traveling on the evening of the 16th, so I will have to shoot for dinner on 11/15.
Still no progress with Brunei. Yesterday I stopped by a few Malaysian restaurants hoping they could prepare ambuyat, but no dice. I won't be in town to research very much before the 15th, so I think we will have to use that evening for our Canada meal. I'll settle on a location sometime this week. |

Canada will be a two-part affair this Saturday night (11/15).
We'll start in Quebec with poutine at the Manhattan location of Mile End - reservation is for 8 people at 8:00 pm. There was no earlier time available, and we can't reasonably have more than 8 people at a table in this location. After dinner, it's off to Ontario in Williamsburg for anyone who wants to make an evening of it. No reservations/guest limit for this stop. Best guess ETA is ~10:00 pm. |

I hope it it is of the caliber or close to that of Ben's on de Maisonneuve where we wasted many hours and put on many pounds that year I spent in Montreal. We are in and also will make an effort to get out to Brooklyn for Part II. |
Is there room for another two for Mile End?
|
Please add me for Quebec. Don't know about Ontario yet - but since there's no count needed for that, we'll just see what happens.
