Same here!

Same! Depends on the cuisine and place but I'm down!

Change of plans. The next meal will be Croatia, next Saturday, August 15 at 6:30pm at Rudar Soccer Club - 34-01 45th St, Astoria (Queens)

The restaurant is downstairs in what seems to be a members-only soccer bar (membership not required for dinner). There is no signage. You just enter the soccer club, head toward the bathroom next to the bar and go down the staircase.

I have a reservation for 8 people, but that was a major underestimation on my part. I'm going out there again today to see how many they can reasonably accommodate.

Save two seats for us!

Done! Also have a spot saved for greendx

We have a big crowd already (12-13), and the restaurant can reasonably accomodate 16-18, so that leaves us 4-6 free seats.

Most of the work in the kitchen is done by one woman, so we're going to go with a family-style approach. Large plates of several Croatian dishes will be served and passed around the table, then if we want more of something, she'll bring us more. I was told she may even make a home recipe if she can get the ingredients together in time :)

I realized I won't be in town this weekend after all. Sorry to miss Croatia but will look for the next cuisine/date posting and hope to be able to join then!

:( Sorry to hear.. I was treated to a couple of free samples yesterday and can guarantee this is going to be a good one!

I looked at the site/menu and I'm really sorry to miss this. Unfortunately I have a family event that I can't miss :(

Anybody else interested? I'm planning to confirm our headcount (currently at 15) with the restaurant this evening.

I see they have a Malvasia (white) wine on their list. ^

Few and far between here in the US. We enjoyed a killer glass of malvasia last year in Split. Hopefully their wine will be drinkable. ;)

Just as few and far between are the two reds from the Plavac Mali grape. These are what I am interested in trying since the Plavac Mali wines have the rep of being big, strong, powerful red wines with a bit of tannin. Report will follow.

Reservation is now for 20 - this is the cap without a deposit - with 19 seats claimed.. room for one more straggler!

If nothing else it's a chance to chip away at bdnyc's commanding spot atop the leaderboard :)

Only because he's out of town. :)

plon has claimed the 20th seat, so we are now at capacity. This stands to top Cambodia and Chile (17 each) as the largest meal of the project so far. See you guys tomorrow evening!
