I was flying EK J class, 777-LR.
Though I should have followed Eightblack's advice, and routed the flight to IAH (for reasons EK flyers will understand)
LAX-DXB, turned out to be 17 hours, close to 18.
I'm never doing that again. Even in F.
Since I probably won't have anyone to pick up the tab to fly EK this time, I'll probably be flying UA
.

But since CO/UA and EK parted ways that's not gonna happen again.
Why IAH over LAX?

Dates and timing Update.
Folks,
We may bring the date forward a little, as we're probably pushing the boundaries of the heat and general weather. The issue we need to be mindful of is fitting in with the overall DO calendar and ensuring we don't overlap (if we can help it).
Standby. Don't book tickets just yet.
I will update shortly
Cheers

I'll be in the plausible category depending on the new dates. Mostly because I want to meet Simon and all you other flying addicts.
I've done some work with Hyatts here in the States and some in Europe for group rates with conferences has anyone approached or would be willing to do so for the DO?

Looks like some FTers that I've been looking forward to meeting are attending. I might just have to find a way to travel through time to get to work on Monday morning!

The new dates don't work for me I'm afraid. I can only come if it's the old dates. Moreover I had already booked time off work from Jun 26 to July 1st so that I could attend :-( . Too late to change my time off work now :-(. Might have to go somewhere else if the meet dates are changed.

Yes yes yes! That happens to be a long bank holiday weekend in the UK and as lady luck would have it (for once) I already had booked segments to DXB to finish off my AONE4 that weekend. If those are the dates we are going with then confirm me down, aviation component or not! (Though something aviation-y would definitely be icing on the cake, no pressure...
