A couple requests:

1. Please don't start too early on Sat. Fri night went reeaaaaally late last time (PH security can corroborate this...) and several people missed (or almost missed) the morning EK events. This can be quite the party city.

2. Any chance of making SkiDubai and Dune Bashing not overlap? Even though I went to SkiDubai last year (I was the only one), I would love to go again, especially with a group.

If anyone is staying at GH, I have a voucher for a 90min spa treatment I can't use (scrub and massage) valid Sun-Thurs. PM me if interested.

So with a giant stroke of luck the EY AUH-JFK flight I've been stalking for months finally opened up an F reward seat, so now I have a much nicer return trip TATL instead of TPAC. This also gets me the 3rd night in Dubai that I was originally aiming for. Sadly I lost my suite upgrade cert (was from 2011) in the process and had to burn a new one, but that was a hail-mary booking anyway.

So my flight data:

(AUS-DFW-YVR-HKG-BKK)
Arrive EY403 BKK-AUH 6/14 11:55a
- 1 night at the Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi
- driving to DXB with From NYC 6/15 (morning)
- 3 nights at the Park Hyatt Dubai
Depart UA976 DXB-DOH 6/18 5:20p
(DOH-AUH-JFK/LGA-DFW-AUS)

Can't wait...

Anyone going to the Burj al Arab?
I would be interested if we can fit it, since I went up the Burj al Khalifa last year. I hear afternoon tea is the most cost-effective way to get in.

Maybe Sat or Sun pm?

I had nothing to do with ya'll over extending your livers...

I am willing to take another group to Ski Dubai if a few people are not into early mornings. I have a bunch of buy one get one free coupons for 2 hour slope passes (2 hours is enough, trust me!). Be sure to bring a hat and gloves, Ski Dubai provides everything else (pants, jacket, socks, boots and helmets if you wish).

Dune Bashing

Hi everyone

If you're interested in the Desert Safari/ Dune Bashing, please RSVP here. From what we found out last year, they are similar in cost, about AED 250 - AED 350.

If we don't have a cocktails event on Saturday and a lot of people are interested in this, we could do skiing in the morning and the safari in the evening. Otherwise skiing/ dune bashing in the AM and cocktails PM.

Either way, RSVP with your preference so we can get numbers and then I'll contact the tour operators. Pick up is usually at the hotel, though we would typically limit to a couple of stops for each car.

I get into DXB on the 14th at 2240. You guys still think you'll be drinking at the IC? If so I'll head straight down to the bar from the airport.

5:30 is not too bad a time as well. If you stay long enough you may catch a good sunset. The fountain show (every 15 mins?) is a good view from the top during the night due to the lights.

I'm interested in the Dune Bashing on Saturday AM. I'm checking out of the Dubai Creek Hilton and moving over to Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort @ Jumeirah that day, so I imagine I'd prefer to get picked up by the beach if possible (unless I can get picked up around the Hilton and dropped off at the Meridien )

FYI, was able to book 6:30 on the 15th, so maybe more tickets have opened up.

I'd be interested in going in the afternoon; would like to see the ski in the morning. Won't be skiing myself because of my knees, but want to see it.

Looks like 5:30 is now also sold out at Burj, but I went last year. I would like to see the fountains from ground level this time, so will happily join in a ride over there, and I'll find a place to watch the fountains from while you're all up above.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, whether in AUD beforehand, or at the Brunch.
