Do you go through C&I if you are flying AMS-WAW? I thought I do that in AMS since both are Schengen ... although I've never done intra-Schengen flights, only trains.

I do have 1 Euro coins and will be able to get more Euros during my stop in AMS (since I need them for AMS anyway) so I'll make sure to keep some for the bus.

The 175 shouldn't take too long as the Warsaw Transit site says it takes about 25 minutes to get to Central station, although I don't see how it can do 20 stops in that time.

If not, the 12 Zloty ticket seems like the best idea since it's less than $4 and would just cover everything.

You're lucky, the Marriott is right next to the Central station ... unfortunately, I'm more of an SPG guy, so I booked the Westin, albeit at a great rate. The weather looks good this weekend though, so I should be fine.

Edit: Here is a better schedule for the Hotel bus : http://www.warsawairporttransfer.pl/...-schedule.html

It looks like it shows a continuous timing for Airport -> Centrum and back. The ride from the airport is longer than the ride to the airport because of less stops (40 minutes Airport>Centrum, 31 minutes to airport).

Is 1h:10m before departure enough time to check in at WAW for the return flight?

Marriott on a map; https://www.marriott.com/search/findHotels.mi

the Westin: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefer...ropertyID=1437

it looks like the Westin is just before the Marriott then a ways down that major street if its walkable I dont know but it doesnt appear to be that far apx 1/2 mile if that

craz Nov 17, 2011 10:51 pm

for some reason I cant edit my post above

when you click onto the map of the Westin click the arrow 2 times to go south another blue road will appear thats the road the Hotel bus goes down and probably the 175 as well

if you look close at the intersection of both Blue roads you will see a small blue box with a pic of a bus in it thats the bus stop. The Marriott is on the other side of the road from that bus stop. so you can see the Westin isnt that far ofa walk so it looks maybe 1/2 mile tops if even that

I too was staying at teh westin till I remembered I had a cat 1-4 cert that exps 12/31 and The Marriott is a cat3 so why not

There is no C&I on intra-schengen flights. If you need euros for that hotel bus, you can change money in AMS.

1h:10m should be plenty of time I would think, including if you use automated check-in

recheck his post on pg 1 they posted they will arrive @ 16:10 and wanted to catch the 16:29 bus so no hour and 10 mins between arriving an dwhen the bus leaves only 19 mins

so is 19 mins enough time if they land on time to get off the plane (Ill assume they are in coach) go thru C&I and make the 16:29 bus? assuming they have teh 1 euro already and dont need to stop to change any money

If they leave the plane at 16:00, 19 minutes will be plenty. Just follow the baggage claim signs and exit right there. You will see taxis on the first street and buses on the second street.
On this picture you can see that this guy is standing on the road where taxis park, and the buses are right behind him.

You won't be going thru C&I. AMS-WAW is like any domestic flight.

I was answering the check in time for warsaw
"Is 1h:10m before departure enough time to check in at WAW for the return flight?"

19min to catch the bus? Probably not. Assume 10min walk from the gate out to the bus if you dont get lost. There is no C&I from AMS as its all schengen. But before the plane pulls up, opens the door, etc, itll take a while.

Sorry I didnt read the ending to youir 2nd sentence had I I would have understood it couldnt have been about the bus since theres no checkin for the bus

In YUL now waiting for the Club to open and the flight tonight to AMS. I'll report back if I learn anything helpful. I'm eagerly curious (though without ExpertFlyer) if an upgrade might be in my future tonight. UGs on MRs are the best.

I'm on the ground in WAW tomorrow just 4 or so hours before returning to AMS so no 175/Green Bus issues for me.

Its real cold.
I just got back from the town, and it is quite chilly outside. All week it was cloudy

I'm in the KLM Crown Lounge near the AMS B gates about to board my flight for WAW in about an hour. The flight from YVR was okay, didn't get an UG but did get ample legroom in the bulkhead. One funny thing at YVR was that I had to have the gate agent print out my KLM boarding passes since I connected from AS ... instead of just printing out YVR-AMS and AMS-WAW, it printed out those and tomorrow's WAW-AMS pass (seq. no 1!). The gate agent said, "wow, that's a quick turnaround! ... oh ..." as if to think, "oh great another MRer"

I Googled "weather in Warsaw" and didn't realize it's for Warsaw, Indiana :D. That said, they are likely very similar. I'll report on the actual conditions later tonight.

I'll be returning to AMS tomorrow on the early afternoon flight and staying near Centraal Station at night in case anyone else is doing a mix of WAW and AMS this weekend.

woody125 Nov 19, 2011 6:42 am

Blah day in WAW. Yech! Foggy, cold, no snow. I'll come back next time in the spring.

Poles are super nice people and as was suggested up thread learning some greetings and questions goes a long way towards making warm people even warmer.

I'm at Gate 23 getting some work done this Saturday afternoon while waiting for the 4.55 p.m. flight back to AMS. Tonight I'll cram in an AMS to MAD run returning early tomorrow a.m. before heading west to MSP and ATL tomorrow night.

No upgrades so far but non working video on the YUL to AMS flight netted everyone a 50 Euro cert towards future DL, AF or KL travel.

Free wifi everywhere here too. Other than weather I'm very impressed.

You come in on the metal I leave on. I'm in the gate already. I'm 6-8 with red hair and...well that should be enough to notice me I guess. I also have a Randy Peterson gifted FlyerTalk Priority Tag on my bag. I'll see if I can pick you out.

Safe travels!
