Hi All,

I'm pleased to confirm that our resident RNZAF FTer (I'll let him out himself if he wants to, though most of you know who he is) has confirmed that we're looking good for a visit to RNZAF Whenuapai on the afternoon of the 11th December, after the tours at Air NZ.

Please note that due to the nature of Air Force operations, this portion of the event could be limited or called off at any time.

A secure, temporary and not-so-pretty website is now up for signups. Please see www.nzmegado.com. All going well, you'll be taken to an even less pretty page saying that your data was validated and stored successfully, and given a button to pay the deposit by PayPal. If you want to pay by another method, drop me an email on the address shown.

Please enter your information in the signup form ASAP. If you experience any problems at all, please let me know.

Thanks, Will...

Just a couple of questions, any (rough) idea on when the CHC Maintenance Tour will conclude? Similarly, any ideas on what the CHC afternoon activities and dinner will entail (without giving the game away too much)...

I'm considering whether to catch the afternoon flight back or stay around for the dinner and catch a return flight the next day.

The total time of the airport tours including transport to/from the terminal in CHC will likely be around 2-2.5 hours, so probably finishing around 11 - 11.30.

Afternoon activities haven't yet been decided, though maybe a bus trip to Akaroa as it seemed to be enjoyed by most when we did it a couple of years ago - open to further suggestions though!

As the group flight out of CHC is just after 9pm, dinner will likely be relatively early in the evening.

Thanks for organising. Great work.

Can I assume the prices on the sign up sheet are in NZD?

I'm staying at the Crowne Plaza, but haven't seen any group arrangements.

Yes all pricing on the website is NZD.

No group accomodation is planned as it's likely going to be cheaper to use your usual tricks anyway I suggest the CP, Hilton, or Westin as all are in relatively easy walking distance to each other. A "who is staying where" post will be added later.

Need to get the signups for the group flights up guys... we have 50 seats reserved and so far only 6 out of the 18 people signed up have selected the group flights. I know the price is slightly high, but if we don't have over 10 people on the group booking the quote becomes invalid. First deposit to Air NZ is due on Friday so if we don't have over 10 by then we're in trouble!

Officially registered and paid deposit. Very much looking forward to this DO and spending time with fellow FTers.

Thanks all!

Numbers on the group booking have been reduced to 20, of which there are still a few spaces available. More can probably be added later, but the cost may be higher (or lower ) - you know how these things work. So if you want certainty of the price, sign up now!

On Saturday, a couple of the events have a dress code. It is probably easiest to make this the dress code for the whole day.

Dress trousers, tidy dress jeans/denim trousers, or tailored walk shorts.
Short or long sleeve collared shirt.
Shoes with long socks, dress sandals, or boat shoes.

Unless square tailed, shirts should be tucked into trousers.
Jandals, sports shoes, T-shirts, tank tops, track suits, rugby shirts shall not be worn.
