Do we get points on "Car XYZZY"?

Anyway, I have some logistical questions for the guys on a few SMDo things, but we still have a month to go so they can wait. I think their priority is getting all the flights booked.

Cheers.

Plugging in the hotels we'll be staying at domestically in NYC, IAH & SEA, the Westin TS popped up w/ bed bug reports. Perhaps not surprising given NYC seems to be under attack from the little *%!Z# bloodsuckers & office buildings etc have had reports of them.
The SMD Westin in NYC was recently redone and the whole point of SPG inviting us there is to demonstrate how nice the new rooms are and that the bedbug stuff is history

Is "Dial 7" the same as Carmel Limo? Carmel has the same or a similar deal from LGA to anywhere in Manhattan.

No. They are 2 different companies. I have been pleased with Dial 7 for the past few years and most of the time they are cheaper then a cab.

Ah, okay, I've used Carmel for several years now too, and they are also cheaper than a cab.

Simply not true between LGA and mid-town.

That said, discussion of NYC transportation is a great topic for the NYC forum. Can we please stop with it here?

The Canadians are coming (again)!

Slowly but surely, the Canadian contingent for SMD II is growing. We'll see what we can do to help sell this thing out.

Cool! I read the thread. One guy said he couldn't make it because he can't take the entire week off. I pointed out that he technically only has to take one day off, which is Friday. Fly to Houston Thurs night, do the charter Friday, fly home Saturday. Don't know if that will tip him into doing it now, but hopefully.

oliver updated post # 1 to say it's only the charter that is the required part, but evidently some folk see FRA & still think it's the entire week like last year.

For those trying to get folk to sign up, you might want to clarify there are 2 parts & only 1 is de riguer.

Cheers.

Totally true between LGA and midtown, I have taken Carmel more times than I can count. Taxi's run about $36++, and Carmel is $28++, which is posted on their website, plus there are coupons out there, I have used them. Return trip is higher, but the inbound receipt always comes with a $5 coupon for the return trip. For those rates, I have always gotten a Town Car, never a van or plain sedan. Sorry to add this, but who wants to be told wrong in public?

A semi urgent request to check your data, especially the events you want to attend. Things don't add up right now:

- we have only 54/55 intending to attend the FRA tours/dinner

BUT

- 62 are on the JFK send off, 75 are flying FRA-IAH
- 20 European passport holders have indicated that they are not coming to the FRA events/dinner?

I can confirm that for cas_de and cas_de+1 - we will just be joining for the U.S. part of the DO.

I updated over the weekend & clicked on yes to all the events. In checking my info on SMDo site, all appears to be correct. I added some info that had been missing.

Cheers.

Great job! We've seen a good chunk of people sign up this weekend, but some have also canceled. We are at about 180 now with 15 press and industry people in addition to that number.

We need about 15 more for me to feel absolutely comfortable, but we are very close to selling out!!

So thank you all for getting the word out there and keep pushing. ^^
