Usually a CO 757-300 takes 4 hours to make the trip SEA-IAH, however we don't know how CO plans to operate this flight. As this is a charter it is rather low in priority and may have delays finding a slot etc. I'm assuming CO wants the aircraft back in IAH to use commerically asap, so you should be back in IAH aorund 3pm.

While it's not an immediate issue, -- for those of us taking the charter back to IAH -- will there be a way to inform CO of our connecting flt info. (to check a bag through to our final destination that day), in advance? I appreciate that we can do it that morning at airport check-in, but just trying to be pro-active!

Starpoints/miles
Hi, Guys,
If we take the nights at Houston and Seattle as airline miles in our SPG account, will we still get the extra 1,000 Starpoints per night as part of the Do? Looks like I'll be a little short on hits for USAirways Grand Slam and these two hits might help, but don't want to jeopardize the extra 3,000 points...

Just sent out this mail:
Since I avoided to add links into the mail (spam traps love that) here is the RSVP link:

Code:
Dear Participants and interested well wishers of the Starmegado, as you may have noticed the organizers of the Starmegado are also hosting the FT awards at the IAH Sheraton on November 4. Voting closes today at midnight pacific time, so if you have not done so, please take a moment to vote on the ftawards(dot)com website :) The awards will be presented in a ceremony that is preceded by a dinner. In attendance we have pretty much the 'who-is-who' of the frequent flyer and hotel rewards industry, including the professionals who work at the firms that design and implement the systems that, for example, make sure you earn points while doing your day to day shopping. Since you will interact with some very interesting people we had earlier requested you to come dressed in a certain way. No, you don't have to dig in your closet and find the tuxedo you wore when you married the love of your life, or dress as if you were the CEO of your favorite airline, but just feel free to come dressed as if you are going to a decent restaurant: for men that would be dark trousers and a shirt with some nice shoes. We are excited and pleased to offer you the opportunity to rub shoulders and interact with everyone in an informal setting while crossing your fingers to see if your favorite program made the cut and wins one of the awards. Since Tommy has attended many an award ceremony honoring the frequent traveler programs on previous occasions, he made sure that all your gourmet needs are taken care of and a beverage of your choice will be served whenever and wherever you may desire it during the event. Sponsorships for the various aspects of the event have been secured, but as this is the first edition of the FT awards, we are not able to completely cover all the costs. We talked about this topic at length and decided to go for what you would pay to spend during an evening for good food and drink at a normal restaurant: 40$. Since we are collecting the money via paypal we added the 1.50$ fee they will charge us. Note that like the Starmegado we try to cover the costs, but in this case the charge is only a part of the actual cost and the sponsors are picking up the tab for the rest. So far we have about 120 guest signed up and confirmed. We only have about 200 seats reserved for non-industry guests. So if you have not signed up for the evening, please do so at the earliest. Just go to the ftawards dot com website, click on the 'award ceremony' tab and then RSVP for the event. Looking forward to see you all at the event and of course the starmegado! Best regards Oliver, Tommy & Reb

Folks,
I'm happy to announce that US Airways will award miles for the charter!
You will earn actual miles for all 3 flights even if you dont take the flight back to Houston. Class of service bonus will also be awarded if you are in First
Oh, and Doug Parker is looking forward to meeting you all!

I don't know if there will be a lot, but I am one of them! Unlike Mr Antinori's advice from last year's Q&A I have been both unable to "try to upgrade myself with miles..." (don't have an LH account nor enough miles anyway) "...or, buy a ticket in Business Class" (don't have enough money).
Patti showed me some maps to help me allocate some seats - I got 43C for LH405 and 37K for LH440; preference is forward window. Was gonna wait and see how the other FTers pulled up on this...

Is it possible to use UA SWUs or Mileage Plus awards to upgrade? I thought I read that the fares were not upgradeable.

oliver has said a number of times they're not upgradable, so my guess is no. Cheers.

The coach fares book into W & S on LH 440 and 405, so inherently they are not upgradable in LH's system.
