Saturday the 6th is looking like the date for the November Happy Hour. Since it's a weekend, with fewer traffic issues than weekday nights, we might want to think about something a little farther afield -- GoingAway has specifically requested something in Virginia, maybe Falls Church or Annadale (or McLean or Tyson's if we're willing to tempt the travel gods). Metro pickups and dropoffs would be available.

Anyone with a suggestion or two for something in those areas? I have plans for the morning and afternoon, so we'd be looking at something in the evening, maybe around 6:30 or 7:00 for dinner, with Happy Hour 30 minutes before then.

So, who's interested?

For the first time, I am willing to venture out beyond Arlington County if there is a Metro pickup.

For once a HH that I can get on the other side of the Beltway easily... however I'll be at a bull & oyster roast that day so if I were to attend, I'd be drooling all over myself since last year I stopped at 65 oysters.

Wow, I'm a mess. Sorry about that! I usually pull through on those things too, esp if booze is involved. Between day job, and 2-that-might-as-well-be-fulltime side consulting gigs I've got going on right now I have pretty much zero free time. Coming up on the US Grand Slam promo deadline so that doesn't help me either!

Really though, is this wrong?

I don't think I've ever met you (and other regulars have indicated the same), but you've been signed up for a number of events.

How about Sea Pearl, at the Merrifield Town Center (closest Metro = Dunn Loring, from which pickups would be available), on Saturday? Here's the menu. Would 6:30 pm work?

Please post to the thread if you're interested. Hope to see you there. Thanks.

Saturday, November 6 at Sea Pearl Restaurant is now official. I made reservations for a party of 6 at 6:45 pm. The reservation is in my name. If there's more interest, I don't think increasing the reservation size will be a problem.

If you need a ride, please send me a PM with your preferred pickup location (I'll be able to pick up 2 from Pentagon City Metro; GoingAway has previously offered rides from spots on the western end of the Orange line).

Hope to see you there.

Love the compromise
