Need a committed ride to DCA on Sun
I'm currently signed up for the IAD museum (that one w/ the planes whatever it's called) on Sunday. Supposedly the tour starts at 2:00pm & lasts an hour. Figure it starts at 2:15pm & w/ people gabbing, ends at 3:30pm.
I have a 5:37pm flight out of DCA & will have a roll-aboard. I've been told by one of our industrious DC Do leaders I need to really get out the door at 3:30pm if I want to make the DCA flight. So the question is - is there anyone doing the Sunday museum tour that is headed to DCA that could get me there in time given the above parameters? If you can, great! If not, then I'll probably have to take a pass on the Sunday aft museum tour & do something else instead. I originally was going to take the 7:30pm flight which would have left plenty of time, but the air jumped to $472 if I went on the 7:30 return  & it even jumped $50 for the 5:37 return, so I jumped & locked in on the 5:37 while I could. Cheers. |
Is the A/S museum at IAD a private tour or is it tour on your own? If we tour on our own - I will likely want to stay for at least 2 hours and maybe go the the IMAX - I think there is a theater.
As we organize rides I suggest we consider variable return times and match up riders accordingly. |

I just wanted to thank everyone for submitting their monies in a timely manner. We have two checks still "in the mail", but I know where the senders live so have full confidence on collecting ;)
For those selecting to attend a Smithsonian tour on Saturday, you should expect to hear from grizshel within a week or two. PM an organizer or post here if you need directions or information. The DO turnout is great. I even had to call the restaurant for Saturday night dinner to arrange for additional space to accomodate us all. See you in May!! |
And again two things:
a) if someone is planning on leaving the UH museum at 3:30pm I could use a ride to somewhat close to or to DCA itself, otherwise I might have to skip UH (although presumably there are other museums I could visit) b) there are 3 of us who are doing the breast cancer walk, so... 1) I have no shame in asking you to support us $$wise to hit our goal; even itsy bitsy amounts gratefully accepted; today is the 1-year anniversary of my sister's death from breast cancer, so it's a matter dear to my heart - all three of us will be slogging around the monuments that day; our 3 webpages are linked on the FT Do site link in post #1; 2) if you can get your sorry butts out of bed after partying way too late the night before like the 3 of us who actually committed to doing the walk (not realizing we had to have OUR sorry butts there so early :D), would love to have the company :) Cheers. |
Have a burning question for MWAA or UA to ask at the TOUR on May 7th? Send your questions in now to [email protected] ... deadlines for questions is April 25
