Yea! A week from tomorrow ... the DO is finally coming to town.

I just went and re-read the .pdf info sheet sent with my IAD tour confirmation, so it's clear where I need to go for that (and btw... if anyone needs to store luggage, pm me and I can get there early and we can put your luggage in my car).

Now for Saturday, I am going to Hillwood. I can drive others, but have not received any info on that. Is it forthcoming or did I miss it (and I apologize in advance if that's the case ). This is going to be fun!

You are on top of it :) This weekend is a bit of BBQ and MR'ing for many folks, so I wanted to wait until everyone is full with miles in their bank before sending out anything else for next weekend.

FYI - Car and riders have been matched but the information not yet shared. Emails will go out after the weekend letting everyone know the people in each car along with handles and cell phone #s so you can figure out the best meeting place, time, etc .... JenGal, you do have a pickup or two assigned for your car, thanks for volunteering!

Wanted to share that I heard from the folks at UA today and they are as excited about the event as we are .... they are lining up vehicles to drive us around during the tour and the size of those cars/buses will determine how we're split up into groups. Every group will see the same things, it's just a matter of the order that those places will be seen.

The questions compiled for them will be finished this evening, and posted on the dc-do website (see my signature) sometime after the weekend, depending on the time that unhBuzzard or I have to devote to it. I think it's a fairly comprehensive list that covers the high points of things people ask about both about IAD and UA (at IAD/station level). MWAA certainly received the higher interest level for questions - they have 26 to UAs 16 or 17.

FYI - If you asked a general UA or MP question, or anything about on-board services, the question will likely not be on the list. You are free to ask those questions if they seem relevant at the time and you get an opening during the tour. The list of questions is related to UA at IAD specifically as is this entire event, MP or on-board services (beyond the mgmt) are activities outside the airport operations and what I expect we'll hear about

UA/IAD Tour

Hot off the presses ... just received an email from our UA contact!! (please be sure to thank Bill for his time, I don't think a Sunday night at 11pm is his normal time to be sending emails out!)

The IAD/UA tour sounds INCREDIBLE! I wish that I could arrange to get there in time, but I had already bought my tix before I ever heard about the DO! There is just no way for me to get to DCA in time to get my luggage, then my car, and drive over to IAD, even by changing my flights through DL SDC. I am so jealous of you guys!

Thanks GoingAway - the tour sounds great! ^^^

We are really looking forward to it (with the added joy of just plain not being in the office on Friday!)!

I can offer a ride to some folks if needed to get to IAD. The easiest for me is to pick up passengers at Vienna metro station (end of orange line).

Caveat ....

Forgot to mention that if there are irregular Ops going on Friday, it WILL impact the tour, agenda and who knows what else for the morning plans ... so everyone please get your sun dance going and help us out! :D

Anyone who is coming in on Friday and leaving on Sunday and who has not yet secured a good room or who is flexible and might be able to change, Marriott just came out with its weekend specials that have a load of DC hotels. Use promotion code "MEB."

That rate code saves me $16/night on my existing rez at the Wardman Park, THANKS! (Dropped me from $143 - AAA rate to $127 - MEB rate)

What are these Malliott's? To my understanding all who matters are staying at the Park Hyatt. ;)

Truth be known, those that count are at the Marriott Renaissance-DuPont Circle. :p
