Sunday street closures
I just saw that there will be street closures in Arlington on Sunday morning due to a half-marathon. While they don't directly impact Clarendon (the area where our restaurant is), anybody driving from Crystal City or Rosslyn might want to check. In particular Route 110 will be closed from Crystal City to Rosslyn, as will a small part of Wilson Blvd near Lynn Street in Rosslyn. (Also Washington Blvd / Columbia Pike area has some closures.)
Best bet from the south is probably Glebe Road / Route 120 and best bet from Rosslyn is to go a bit west on Lee Highway before heading south to Wilson / Clarendon Blvds. |

I read a number of reviews on Zengo and they were all quite positive. They classified the restaurant as Japanese/Mexican fusion cuisine and judging from the menu I'd have to agree.
One item was mentioned time and again and folks raved about it....the Crispy Tofu. And that was from folks who said they normally didn't like tofu. So it looks like a great menu. :) |
Dulta had a bit (8hr) of a delay for my flight, so now I'm on the direct AS LAX-DCA, but will miss tonight's Capitol City Brewing gathering. I'll text those I know when I arrive later tonight.

A quick note to just say United put on an awesome show for us today! Instead of ending at 2.30 as planned, we had to cut it off around 4.15, then good byes, etc and I just finished my mattress run check-in. I'll be a little late for the happy hour - gvdIAD should be there about on time to meet and greet. See you all in a bit |
IAD tour rocked!!! ^^^ to GoingAway, UA, MWAA and everyone who assisted in planning.

I was registered for Saturning morning tour which was cancelled. GrizShel indicated that in total there were only 6 people for both morning and afternoon tours (Hillwood stole all the spotlight from the free public ones). With GrizShel needing min 5 people firm for the afternoon tour and him being out of town on Saturday, it is extremely high possibility that it was cancelled. I agonized for the longest time whether to go on the afternoon tour but decided against it due to other prior commitments.

I'll be heading downtown shortly; should arrive at Cap City around 6:35 pm. Look forward to seeing everyone upstairs.

Patience, patience. It took GoingAway and I (with telephonic participation by Condition One) a bit over 2 hours last night to deliver out-of-towners' bags to DC & NoVA hotels. Locals who are attending dinner will be able to collect their bags either at the IAD tour later today or the bags will be delivered tonight at Capital City Brewing Co.

I am simply amazed at how great the IAD tour was!!!
^^ :):) :D:D :-::-: Thanks so much to all those who did the planning and to all the airport and airline folks who participated. At every stop we could have spent more time and every person who talked to us seemed sincerely happy to meet with the group. Very Nice! Oh - and thanks much for the goody baggie too! |
Wow! Thanks to United and the MWAA for making this a great afternoon! I was suprised to see well over a dozen reps from each organization when I arrived. The MWAA's explanation of their charter, how they're organized, and their challenges provided excellent insight into Dulles Ops.
The United and MWAA staff were serious and gracious when listening to our comments (both good and bad), and gave us unprecented access to their facilities. I hope nobody left anything behind on that flight to DME! :) |
Just uploaded the first batch of photos from the IAD tour this afternoon...
