Sorry to hear that, I was looking forward to seeing you again. It's been a long time!

Fridays Tour and Sundays brunch (in particular) are both filling up quickly .... if you're planning to attend, register soon so you don't miss out.

I hope to have the sign-up information for the Walk-a-thon later today, we have 3 people interested in walking with United Team Dulles so far.

NOTICE - If you have sent in a registration for this event and have NOT received a confirmation form in response, please send us an email asap. Thanks!

Finished up some work stuff last night & still have a boatload to do, but taking time after I get a cup of tea to get the forms/payments handled. Cheers.

I'm signing up for Hillwood, but noticed on the official do website that the list of events/locations for Fri/Sat etc hasn't been updated (ie, no location and on Sat no mention in detail of Museum Tour), so when you get a moment the webmaster might want to update (and perhaps add the American Indian etc to post #1?). Cheers.

Ok, registration form completed & sent in! Still haven't booked air or hotel yet; will sort that out this weekend.

Just curious - I would have thought Mother's Day was the #1 busiest brunch day, not the 2nd. What's the 1st? :D

And hope the Hillwood folk do make it to the Austrian embassy for the open house, as I went to school in Vienna (Austria, not Virginia :p)

Cheers.

The two embassies closest to Hillwood are the Hungarian and Czech, which are less than 0.5 mile from Hillwood (and practically next door to each other). Assuming parking is available (we won't be able to leave cars at Hillwood), I may try to visit one or both after our time at Hillwood.

Woohoo! This local has sent in the registration. Quite impressed that I did it DAYS before the deadline!

Those are fairly close, but the Netherlands Embassy is right next to Hillwood. I'm not sure about a Saturday, but on weeknights it is usually possible to park on Upton Street, which is more or less around the corner.

True, but I think usually the Netherlands holds its open house festivities at the Ambassador's Residence on 24th Street, NW.

For those of you who requested the UA Tour at Dulles - I am waiting to hear from the UA folks about the max number of people they can accomodate, the number needs to be confirmed before I can in turn confirm the participants. At this point in time, we are a few short of the number thrown out in the initial discussion which should be close to the final figure. Hopefully everyone who has registered thus far will be accomodated, but if the number is smaller than expected, the priority is towards those of you who are participating in the weekend, not just the tour.

I will confirm your status with you as soon as we have the needed information to finalize the list. At this time, we are still taking requests, but you should consider yourself waitlisted for the moment. Appreciate your patience on this one!

GoingAway Mar 23, 2010 9:08 pm

NOTICE - Sunday BRUNCH is officially on WAITLIST status. We'll contact the restaurant to see if they can expand the reservation, but as of now we are overbooked!!

There are a few brunch options in the same area as Harry's that could be an option for anyone that didn't make the brunch list, including this great place across the street (no reservations allowed). No one goes hungry in Clarendon!!

Other options include Boulevard WoodGrill and Whitlow's on Wilson. There are more (and can someone post the name of the place across the street)

What's the bump compensation? ;) :D

(This IS FT after all....)

SkiAdcock Mar 24, 2010 10:09 am

Ok, just booked the Crystal City Marriott. Got a $139 rate & am using a Marriott elite EEO, so that makes it $69.50/night. Thought of doing Ren DuPont Circle since other FTers are staying there, but it's $169 & I figure the extra $30 I'm saving can go to covering part of the booze costs for the weekend ;)

Now to figure out air, and see which is cheaper - DCA or IAD or if they're the same.

Cheers.
