Well, the game seems to be over for me. I used to be able to churn two cards at a time. I would apply for a Visa and MC on the same day; however, this month I receieved the Visa card, but also receieved the "you can not apply for more than one card in a 60 day period" letter. Has anyone else had this occur?

I've never applied for two cards at the same time under my name and have never been declined. I did receive a call from Citi this week re: an app for a second plat MC. The rep said that since I already had one card and had the max credit limit on it, they could only give me a $5K limit on the new card - but I could reallocate credit limits if I wanted. The $113K balance I had on my first card had no bearing on their approval.
I think what I'm going to do in the future is apply for only one card at a time, and apply for different cards: MC, Amex and Visa - even though the Visa card has only a 20K bonus (I think). Once sufficient time has passed, I'll go back to 3-app/60-day process for my wife and see if breaking up the apps works for her.

My 60 days are ending Apr 27 and I may try applying for 2 MCs and see if that works.

I was denied twice for 2 cards since they were both less than 60 days (by 1-2 days). But I was specifically told by an CSR that 2 weeks later (4/4) I would be eligible for another card. The denied applications reset the 60 day application clock each time. I just called and was told my third application was denied. I asked why, and was told you cannot have more than 2 applications in a 60 day period. I asked how long that was the rule and she did not know. I asked when I would be eligible again and she suggested to try back in June!

The Jig is up! No More (heavy) personal Citi Churning
Citi CSR confirms that you are only allowed one business card every 90 days, AND
"YOU CAN APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE PERSONAL CARD AS LONG AS YOU WAIT AT LEAST 60 DAYS BETWEEN EACH APPLICATION"
Rep was clear the limit is one app per 60 days now for personal cards.
This sucks, I cant imagine why they put these obsurd restrictions in place!

IMHO, this is (or was) incorrect. I have (in the past, a year or so ago) gotten several business cards on the same SSN within 60-90 days of each other.

OK, I am only 125k from AA Lifetime Plat and want the extra miles. So, I called Citi back and asked for a CSR manager and asked them point blank when can I apply again since I reset the 60 day clock three times now.
I was informed by her that I can have TWO personal applications in 60 days, irrigardless wheather they were approved or declined. She seemed knowledgeable about the subject and advised I reapply after 60 days from the last application, just to make sure I dont reset the clock again. I am eligible on 5/16/08 for another card if it is 2 in 60 days, so I will call back then and ask if I am elligible.
Boy, now I am really confused on their new rules. I am wondering if they can now apply different rules to different customers?

can you apply over the phone for the same offers that are on the web? if so, can they tell you before you apply if you are eligible or if you will be denied due to the 60 day rule? this would be nice because it would avoid a hard pull. they hard pull even if they deny you for the 60 day rule right?

Kudos to you for having the insight to ask your questions directly to a CSR. That's one of the things they're there for: to answer our questions.
