Does anybody know when the signup bonus will increase? No. Please don't ask in the thread "just to double-check if anybody knows." Nobody knows.

Just got my card today...it's so purty. Leaving on Saturday for 3.5 weeks in Europe so the bonus spend should be easy to reach. With I could get them to give me a bit higher credit limit though. (It's about half what I usually get on the AA cards.)

Make sure you take along a couple of non-Citi cards as back up. Lately Citi has been doing stupid fraud procedures on new and fairly new cards. My AA card was recently denied at a restaurant in Italy (yes, I had told them I was going there) because, after having already spent and paid $2K on it, they "wanted to be sure it was (me) that actually applied for the card".

Oh, ugh, thanks for the heads up. Actually taking 8 cards total..some for chip/pin at kiosks, and some just because I want to have the cards I made bookings with (just in case). You would think a global company like Citi wouldn't be this backward..then again...MAILERS! LOL.

The thing is, I keep meticulous records of ALL the cards I ever have. I am SURE that the last activity was to close Premier in August 2016, and I applied for this card in September 2018, which for me is after 24 months.
Is there a way to call customer service and ask about this? Do you think there's a chance that they will give me the bonus offer? Just asking if anyone ever has that experience.

Thank you.
Citi said to check credit report for open date, 24 months after that date is good. they would not tell me when I opened my prestige, or when it's been 24 months since opening. Everything is on your own, these days every company is afraid of saying anything solid, except the true actual devaluation that masked as enhancements to customer experience.

Would you guys agree with the notion that it's easier to get a Citi Thank you Premier card than a Chase Sapphire Preferred? How much credit history does Citi require to consider their applicants especially for someone who have about a year of credit history?

Thanks.

I was approved for the Premier and I'm waiting for it to come. Is there a way to check and make sure they correctly showed me eligible for the sign up bonus? I found my Prestige approval/account opening date and waited till 25 months +1 day to apply, and I've now had 3 annual fees post to the Prestige so I know I can make a good case for being eligible.

I currently have the Citi Thank you card for almost 3 years. Rather than pay annual fee upcoming, can I apply and get new Thank you card and then cancel the old one to avoid 24 month reset. Will Citi allow 2 Thank you cards like AA? Thanks in advance!

Bonus question

I signed up for the 60k for $4K spend TY Premier bonus a few months ago. My first statement due amount was $1200. The second statement due amount was $2796, but I had $50 worth of returns at Kohls, so the total spend was over $4000.

Does anyone know if store returns subtract from the minimum spend requirement? Also, are Simon Mall gift cards still good to go for Citi (about half my spend was Simon)?

I just applied and was declined. My annual income is $71,000 and TU score is 801. This was the message that I got after submitting my online application.

Unfortunately, we were not able to approve your application.

You will receive written notification with details regarding our decision in approximately 7-10 days.
What should I do now? I only have two credit cards at the moment and the history is good. No late payments or ever declared bankruptcy.

Call in the 1-800 number for Citi reconsideration. You have nothing to lose. Kind of surprised you got denied as well, but you need to make sure there isn't an error or mis-assumption by them.

Also, they pulled TransUnion for your app??!

I have no idea which bureau they pulled my report from. I was very surprised by the decline as well. There were no 1-800 number posted to inquire about my app. You got the number? Any tips on what to say?

Call in and talk to a human. Also this is a premium card, I take it you don't have a history with citi - none of these two cards you have are Citi cards? Two cards is nothing.

probably not enough history. I'm thinking back to when I got approved for my Sapphire Preferred (equivalent card to the Premier). I think I had about 6 or 7 years of credit history with 3 cards, maybe a 2 year history with a fourth, and a paid off auto loan. No idea what my credit rating was.
