Hello, I recently applied for this, and when the card came in the mail, the letter said: our records show that you are not eligible for the bonus offer based on a recent opening or closure of a ThankYou etc in the past 24 months.
The thing is, I keep meticulous records of ALL the cards I ever have. I am SURE that the last activity was to close Premier in August 2016, and I applied for this card in September 2018, which for me is after 24 months.
Is there a way to call customer service and ask about this? Do you think there's a chance that they will give me the bonus offer? Just asking if anyone ever has that experience.
Thank you.

My last 2 Citi AA Plat cards were insta-approved, but this one went to 7-10 days. Call in immediately, verified address and D.O.B. and they sent my mobile a text and got approved. Painless process.

Not sure what that has to do with anything, we've been seeing less optimal spend:reward ratios all over lately, from the latest incarnation of the Prestige bonus (may it RIP) to the straight up lower bonuses on the CSR. Regardless an extra $1k in MSR costs me $10 in VGC/MO fees, so while it does negatively impact margins, not enough for me to care. At least you can still overtly MS on Citi/Chase cards, vs. Amex which is a bit more sensitive to that for MSR purposes.

Now if chase ditched 5/24 and Citi their 24 month policy for TYP cards, THAT would make a difference.

I haven't seen an answer to this inquiry. Has anyone tried to do this? I got the Citi Prestige card a year ago. My son got a mailer for the Premier card with no 24 month language (same first and last name and address, but different middle name) and I was thinking about trying it if anyone had successfully used one of these mailers from a family member on a non-AA Citi card. Like OP, I don't want to restart my 24 month clock if I'm not going to get the bonus points.

This was a 12-digit mailer code, not a 9 digit code, correct? The 12 digit mailers are non-transferable AFAIK, at least for the AAdvantage platinums

Yes, it is longer than 90 days. SO got an AA card with a bonus spend time frame of four months but the dates are from 8/2 to 12/15. Send them an IM and they'll give you the date that the spending needs to be completed by. All that being said, Citi being Citi, I would not cut it too the last second.

Agreed. And I would never risk anything coming down to the wire with these cards since the bonus is basically the reason we get the cards. I am not even into GC or MS, but if it was nearing the wire I would absolutely buy a GC (with Citi) to just get the process done and spend it later.

Just don't buy any GCs issue by US Bank. Massive fraud problem with those, and US Bank refused to refund my last $200 card bought at Staples. I filed a case thru the phone number on the card, but after faxing in the info, never heard back from them.. The computer answering the phone number on the back of the card hangs up on me bc "the card is closed due to fraud". And the CSR at my local USB branch tells me USB Corporate says "that's a separate division, and we have no info on it". But the Visa GCs cards from Sunrise Bank I get at he grocery store, and One Vanilla cards from CVS, have been flawless over a number of years.

If you're not sure about your DOB, it's generally listed on your birth certificate. Alternatively, you could ask your mom.
