FAQ
1. Are these cards churnable?
Yes, they are. BUT you’ll have to wait anywhere from 12 to 26 months before applying again. Approvals have happened at the 13 month mark and denials at 24.
There is no set 18 month rule, but always err on the side of caution when churning.
Also- it’s from DATE OF APPROVAL and not from date of cancellation.
2.What are the most current rules in applying for these cards?
#ONLY ONE APPLICATION in a day (make that 30 hours to be safe)
#No more than 2 apps in 65 (approximately) days.
Example:
Day 1 40K personal platinum
Day 2 or later 25-30K personal gold
65+ days later 40K business
While the day limits are a little flexible by a few days either way and YMMV, the rules themselves are not flexible.
3. How long does it take for the Admiral passes to arrive?
For the better part, it takes about 3 months. This is not a set number, and some have received theirs sooner. It's been deduced that the passes are handled by a 3rd party that mails them in batches. Please don’t call Citi for the passes, because you’ll mostly find a CSR who doesn't know better and will give you wrong information.
4. Can I apply for a business card if I don’t have a business?
Technically, you can. But you may be asked for a 4506-T form, or to provide proof of business or/and a copy of a bill with your business name on it. If you don't already have a credit history for the business name you plan to use (meaning this is your first rodeo) then it is recommended you use your name as the business name with no income and 0 as years in business.
5. How do I get the statement credit?
First, you have to make sure if the offer you signed up for gave you A $150 credit or UP TO A $150 statement credit. For the 1st, any AA coded purchase ($50 AA GC seems to be the simplest option here) will/should trigger it. For the 2nd, you’ll have to spend $150 to get the $150 credit.
For more information on what will work and what won’t, please see here (thanks sdsearch) and here (thanks dogbyte)
6. Does the $150 account credit (for AA purchases using the VISA or AMEX) count against the spending required to receive the initial mileage bonus?
No. It does not. (Put differently: any account credit you receive has no impact on your spending total for purposes of earning the "X thousand miles for $Y spent in the first Z months" bonus.)
7. Can I buy Visa gift cards to meet my minimum spend?
There’s a very good chance that it’ll be coded as a cash advance.
It’s recommended to call citi and have them set your Cash Advance limit to zero. (thanks KennyBSAT)
8. Do I get 10% back when redeeming miles for awards?
It depends. First, the rebate program (which began in April 2012) applies only to holders of these cards:
Also, the maximum rebate for any cardholder in a single calendar year is 10,000 miles. Having more than one qualifying Citi AA card will not allow you to receive a larger rebate; the restriction applies per AAdvantage account.
9. At what locations are my one day Club passes valid?
All valid locations are listed here.

Miss the requirement for getting the 75k miles from last application
Hello,
Since the 75k miles application forum is closed, and I need help from anyone who experience that miss the min spending within 3 months for the 75k bonus early this year and able to get the 75k miles to AA account by calling or emailing AA.
We missed the $3000 spending, forgot about the statement close date.
We are thinking to call AA and see whether they will still give us the 75k bonus, eventhough we are one month fall behind the required date.
Anyone has experience with it, and can you share yours. Wanted to make sure what do expect, before we call.
Thanks,
Coco

It's my understanding that the way this works, is a bank like Citi, buys a lot of miles from an Airline like AA, and the bank gives the miles away in promotions, not the airline. In the preceding, you can use Chase for the Bank and UA for the airline, Amex/Delta, Barclays/USair, etc.
So you need to communicate with the bank, Citi in this case, and not the airline.
As to your success, hopefully others will have that information for you.

Next week, it will be 19 months since I got my last AA personal cards. So I am planning on doing the 2 browser trick next week to apply for another round.
After reading this board, I am definitely going to apply for the AA Amex first. If I don't get immediately approved or denied, then I will call the reconsideration line before applying for the Visa. Basically, I want to find out for sure whether the Amex was approved before I do anything else. If I am denied for being a previous card holder, then I don't want to wait to apply for the AA personal Visa yet. This still keeps my chance at getting both cards with 100,000 miles alive in a few months when I try again.
If I do get denied on the Amex for being an existing cardholder, I will probably apply for the 50K Citi Thankyou card as the second card in my two browser trick. Hopefully, this will still net me only 1 hard credit pull.
Of course, the best result would be that I get approved for both the personal Amex and Visa, each with 50K, $150 credit, and 2 admirals club passes. Next week I will post an update on how this goes.
Thanks to everyone for all of the advice here.

What's all this no more churning talk? The 18 month "rule" was never a definitive thing. Some people could reapply after 12 months, even 6 months. Others could not get back in for 24 months or even more. But for most, the 18 months holds true.
It has been 17 months since my last app for the personal cards and 8 months since I got the business. I am applying for a round of cards today and will include the Citi Biz in my apps. Will report back the results.

Hoping for a quick answer
Does anyone know if a food purchase in the Admirals Club qualifies as an AA purchase for the $150 statement credit? The credit card slip received doesn't identify whether AA is the vendor or someone else. I am in the Admirals Club right now hoping to fulfill the AA purchase on four cards. Thanks for any help.

About a week ago I did the 2 browser trick to apply for both the Amex and Visa AA Citi cards. I received instant approval for the Visa but got a pending for the Amex. Today in the mail I received a letter for the Amex card requesting a copy of my social security card for verification purposes. Is it even worth following through or will I now be declined for already having a personal Citi AA card?

Not the answer I wanted, Happy, but that sure was incredibly quick! The paninis were excellent even if I didn't trigger my statement credit. It just seems awkward to buy something on the aircraft. Thanks very much for the response and if anyone else has any evidence that an AC purchase DID work, I'd love to hear it!

HEY Citi AA Experts! lol
Current situation:
Currently have:
-Visa Citi AA
-Amex Citi AA
-Citi Mastercard Platinum
-Closed Citi AA Business back in August 2010
-Closed Citi AA Business Back in July 2010
I want to do the two browser trick and apply for another
Citi AA and Citi thank you Card.
My last application with Citi was probably 20 months ago.
Are they going to give me the "you already have too many cards with us" Attitude? Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

With two different types of cards, the only timing limit you have is (probably) no more than 2 Citi cards of any type applied for within 65ish days. But with two different types of cards, it doesn't matter whether you apply for both in the same minute or one a day/week/month after the the other.
The only possible benefit to the two-browser trick with two different cards is to combine pulls. But half the time that doesn't even work with two cards of the same type, and I'd think the chances go way down with two cards of a different type. So it is really worth it?
However, since I've already explained that the two-browser trick has little benefit on Citi AA paired with City TY cards, I would suggest you might want to consider signing up for only one at a time, prioririzing by the one you want to get the most being the first one you submit the app for. That way, if they approve only the first one and deny the second one, you know which ones those are.
If you apply for both at the same time, you can't necessarily control which one they'll approve and which one they'll deny (if they want to approve only one, but don't give you an "instant approval" for either).
Btw, be prepared for the fact that they may condition approval for one or both of the cards on moving credit lines around from one or more of your existing cards. So think ahead of time which (of your existing Citi) cards you can "shed" how much credit line from.

I assumed you cancel all your citi visa and amex person and business cards before membership due, I applied the 75k bonus 12 months ago, wonder the status of your applications.

The two browser trick is not necessary when it's two different types of Citi cards that you're applying for. The two browser trick's main purpocse it get two cards of the same type approved, when spacing them a day apart would not get the approved since the second would be decline on the basis that you already got the first one (a day earlier).

Hard to be sure. Certainly many of us have gotten approved for 2 cards after having 3 (or maybe even more) cards with Citi already. But then there's people, perhaps with lower scores or whatever, for whom that doesn't work. The fact that you've had years of history with Citi, though, probably helps you.
