Still game for Hot Pot Master, not sure if they take reservations, we would certainly need a count of who is showing up. The more, the cheaper per person
Count me in for the 12th, and I can deal with something in the RMB 130 range, but for hotpot I'm not willing to venture up into the RMB 200 range. I'm flexible on time but prefer to get started not later than 6:30 or 7:00 pm.

Count hubby & I in, and 6.30/7pm is perfect for us too.

Looking forward to it.

Count me in, 7p.

Lady, since you live over there, you might want to make a reservation... probably a non-issue, but security is always nice.

I'm happy to make a reservation for 7pm, how many are we? I might do it for 8 to be on the safe side. Will post reservation name later.

Sounds like a plan. I'm counting 5 so far: you + husband, moondog, me, fimo. Jiatong, you coming with the usual accompaniments? That would be 8. Otherwise, I'd probably say table for 6.

Will you be around for Chinese New Year? We can do either hotpot or something else for those of us who might be around then. Maybe CNY eve, before the stragglers head off to warmer climes. I believe there are no FT rules limiting get-togethers to only one per season.

ThankS lady1964, looking forward to catching up with folks. I will definitely be there but the vagaries of hailing a cab from Huamao at peak hour plus getting out of the office on time given my last full day in Beijing may not get me the table at 7pm. I have jiejie's number so will drop a msg if I will be running late.

Very kind of you to think of us jiejie. We are around during CNY -- although CNYE may not work. This next week is super-busy as everyone is trying to cram as many meetings as possible in as short a time as possible!

Have fun tonight!

No problems. I should be around and anybody else who is, we can find another opportunity to eat during the holiday. I do recommend you try out a temple fair or two sometime during the first week after NY day itself.

Thanks. We want to check out a temple fair or two: are they on a schedule or is it everyday for that week? Any particular ones to recommend?

Llama Temple is the ONE, but if you don't fancy waiting for 4 hours to get in, go for a lesser known venue... 5 days after the dragon arrives.

In 2010 we went to Yuanmingyuan temple fair near the summer palace. Then , only 10 rmb, and neat to walk around in the AM, dress warm. Also some tasty street food snacks there.

The games are also fun, the toss the 3 balls in the basket was easy for me with my 6'5' frame & long arms...
