The Official Beijing Meet Up Thread
 

This thread is meant to be a master thread for meeting up with fellow FT-ers in Beijing. It is simply meant as such, and if you have other questions about Beijing (eg transportation, sights, foods, airport help) please see our China Guide.

For meeting up, we simply want to propose you use the following format:

Dates to Meet Up
Where you will be staying
What you activities you want to do
Ideal times to meet

For example:

Dec 12-17
Hilton Wangfujing
Seeing Greatwall, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven
After 5pm

Once there is a confirmation for at least two people to meet, the second post in this thread will contain those details. Please PM me if I do not update the second post in a timely fashion. Thanks for your cooperation to keep our forum efficient and we hope this forum helps facilitate friendly DO's in Beijing.

I'll be in BJ Nov 21-26 if anyone wants to meet up, staying near Chaoyang. No real plan for the week, other than the obvious tourist highlights and the wall.

Supposed to be a thread to help facilitate meetings between FT-ers in the respective cities. Until some general guidelines get posted post away when you'll be where.

In Beijing Nov 24-27 at the JW Marriott. Looking to do a Wall tour on Nov 25 - one of the remote tours. Right now there are 2 maybe 3 of us for the tour.

Also some Peking duck for Thanksgiving????

Will be joining a 1 week tour on November 21 that will hit all the major attractions (Great Wall, Forbidden City etc.).

My hotel got changed by my tour so now I'm staying at the Jinnian Hotel Beijing

I'm not planning on leaving town before the end of the month (if I can help it), so all days are good.

That was really uncool of your tour company. If I were you, I would demand to be moved to a better location.

Fox, I'm re posting this here in order to give your thread some traction, but I still have no idea how to find it.

Went to Hot Pot Master yesterday as friends were craving hotpot and we didn't feel like venturing beyond across the street... We paid $400 for 3 pp and were really full from dinner. Quality was pretty good, the only other hotpot places I'd been to are the mass market Shabu-Shabu, or the high-end DingDingXiang. This is a good price point for the quality and environs. Tonnes of dip fixings for you to experiment. We sat next to the condiment island and one of my friends was enjoying all combinations of spices and sauces.
