Perhaps a reference to question your political representatives? Perhaps a reference to have the general public question the "right people"?

How about the reverse: have football players paid what teachers, cops, nurses, coal miners, lettuce pickers, etc. are made?
There is, in fact, more than one something wrong with this world. That cops who choose the job, who can retire after 20 years with a hefty pension and benefits are not paid what the top football players are paid is not nearly the worst injustice that I can think of.

When one of them puts their life on the line, or puts out one fire, then maybe they'll deserve about 1/10th of what they make.
And, of course, many who have those dreams are injured in high school and college in such a way that their knees or whatever will never be the same - all before earning a penny.
There are lots and lots of people who want to be LEOs. If there weren't the salaries and benefits would go up.
The dream of everyone earning what they are worth to society instead of in the marketplace is a good one ... but it won't ever come true in this culture.

Nothing you said "went clear over my head either". On the other hand, what I said went clear over your head since there are obviously more than just two possible ways of screening air passengers other than the way TSA and El Al do it. Do Israelis use what American Airlines accepted as appropriate screening for their airports in Israel? No. Their methods are designed for their situation, their culture, their laws. The problem is that your methods and treatment of the public don't represent what's appropriate for a "free" society or passengers wouldn't be having these conversations about you people daily on here. Your answer to everything is "same of more and how dare you question authority." TOugh cheese, you still live in a society where the fourth amendment has been been all but overturned but the first one hasn't been damaged as much, so that's how that goes.

I was just minding my own business, enjoying a cup of coffee...how did I get dragged into this?

From my part, the "mutual" in "mutual admiration" is not there. Admire? Nah, amusement.
1. There are not many whom I admire.
2. Increasing familiarity often breeds increasing contempt.
Things to remember.

The labor market -- and marketplace that a good portion of Americans and the world support financially and otherwise -- has led to the salary structures (or non-salaries/low salaries in the case of the majority of professional athletes and entertainers).
If you oppose the labor markets functioning in such a manner, perhaps a lesson in Soviet Economics 101 would help. But even the Chinese and Vietnamese are increasingly not practicing such lessons. So perhaps you need to attend North Korea's Pyongyang University? The TSA taking lessons from there?
