Chase really sux.

After getting the Stockback Rebate card...i have been using it for awhile until yesterday while trying to charge it @ Kinkos ($2 only!) and it got denied. Called CS..and was told that there is a security issue on my account. I asked him what kind of security problem..he refused to say and he said that an account security officer will be in touch with me in 48 hours. This sux...i called the CS three times and they told me that they can't do anything! What a horriable horriable company! They truly suck!

I know of someone whose charges were denied as soon as a payment was missed by a single day after the due date. Although I agree that the cardholder has a responsibility to pay by the due date, and that the card issuer has the right to decline additional charges if payment is not made on time, I've not heard of any other bank actually cutting off charges the day after the due date on an account that otherwise is in good standing. Perhaps Chase manages to run off a lot of cardholder they don't want with these policies, but I would think they manage to also alienate a lot of potentially good customers at the same time.

I am never a big fan of Chase. However, I do have the Stockback card, not my primary card though. Sorry about your problems and Please update us MD80!

Thanks.

I called Chase back and they told me that they will have someone contact me in 24 hours, I told them no need, i'm closing my account. Looks like I'm going to Chasebanksucks.com and sign the Guest book.

Edit to add: Is there any good recommendations out there for a nice cash rebate VI/MA? I have the Citi Dividend already. Thanx

Oh oh...... I actually just opened a checking and savings account with Chase, and have applied for a 0% APR Credit Card. Are things with Chase really that bad...?

MD80 Sorry about your problems and kinda glad that you closed the account. I"ll see how they treat me (it's going to be hard, cus i never use the card)...

Yes I heard Chase is very very bad. I used to have a Checking Account with Chemical Bank of Texas when I was in college...it was suppose to be Free Checking...but after it got bought out by Chase..they mysteriously changed my account to a $3000 Minimum Checking Account. Now imagine a college student with $3k in his checking account! The worst thing is that i never got a letter stating the change at all! I immediately closed the account and moved elsewhere!

Wow, that site is funny. I used to have a CO Visa from Chase. I cancelled it after 3 years because they would not offer me anything to sign up again and the previous year, they offered me 6k to resign then later told me this offer did not exist and they gave me only 1k. I had the various CSR's and Mgr's giving contradictory information and someone was lying... anyway aside from this, they were decent to me for other issues. They waived my late fee twice - I think it happened because I sent the bill in and after Anthrax, mail was taking longer than I anticipated (I still think that due dates for credit cards should be on postmarked date and not actual date of arrival because there is little proof of the date of arrivel...).

I noted that one person on that site said that Chase said that all CO mileage in the account would be lost if the credit card was cancelled. This is not true at all, I think the customer just misunderstood. What is lost are any unposted miles that were earned. Miles are posted monthly and once they are posted, they are there and out of Chase's control. If you cancel the card before a monthly posting, you lose that month's miles. That is why when I was going to cancel, did not use it for the last month.

Every card issuer has hate websites: Amex, Citi, MBNA, etc.

I'm not sure what's the problem. Wouldn't you expect them, if they suspect your card is stolen, not to discuss it with anyone claiming to be you, until this is resolved by their security dept. after a couple of days?

Chase has been very good to me, approved a credit line increase before I even got the card in the mail, and their Retention also lowered my APR. Now they're offering 0% for a year on balance transfer.

I guess what ticked MD80 off was that the way Chase's way of handling this whole thing...

First of all, when I called them the first time they confirmed it was me who was using the card but they said that they still need someone to call me back on it in 2 days, which made me quiet upset.

Secondly, on the last call placed to them which included my termination of the account, not only did the lady offer no apologies, she was also being rude at the same time. I'm sorry if this kind of service sounds normal to you Sarr but it is just not acceptable to me.
